I've just recently acquired an Exposure X Integrated amplifier. If all goes well with the Exposure. I will take some pics and upload them here on this blog.
As some of you will already know. The X comes from an era when John Farlowe was working at Exposure in Portslade, West Sussex. Anyway, we're talking well over 20 years ago now.
IMO the X is a stunning little thing, and I've owned 2 in the past. If you favour a musical, direct, punchy sound. This amp will tick those boxes! Its never too analytical and just carry on with the music!
Will give it a decent listening session tomorrow evening.
Will keep blog posted.

Well done for joining the TAS Bloggers Club, Shane! The old Exposure ear is nice - I know Portslade quite well and there's been precious little else good to come from there! They used to call Portslade 'Copperous Gap' because it oozed with green stuff (sulphates) out of the ground. We'd love to see your photos!
Cheers
EDIT: Now I think about it, there was one other good thing: I used to like playing at the Portslade cricket ground because it had a really short boundary on the north side - it was dead easy to score a six!

I grew up in Brighton for 24 years, Portslade is now a fastly developing town, finally ! Never heard the Expo integrated, I hear it's very good though, many highly rate it.

The X just brings life and rhythm to recordings. The Naim CD should really sing with it. K20 should be a perfect choiceof cable too.

The K20 is well known to work well with Exposure. Its not far away from Exposure's own cable!

Thanks, jammy. No problem, you are entitled to your opinion The Alchemist was an interesting little beast. According to the reviews, it needed to be paired with 'easy' high impedance speakers for good results. S.

Showed up on my doorstep this afternoon... Yes, these are the humble Grado SR60i. Very popular budget Grado headphone. They boogie just like any other Grado that I've come across! S.

How are they on efficiency, i.e. could they be adequately driven from a portable mp3 player?

I won a £200 pair of headphones in a raffle last week, I gave them away without even looking to see what they are, I must be bonkers. But I was sitting next to a extremely talented young rapper who is broke, I think it made his day

Back when I had 60's, 325's & RS1's all at the same time and could compare them back to back I honestly couldn't tell much difference between them with or without amp... Maybe I'm deaf!? All were easily driven from an iPod Nano (1st gen it would have been!) headphone output too.
I think all models used to share the same drivers but that may have changed now ?
