Nope. It contains no amplifier. The prefix 'pre' was always intended to convey line signal amplification rather than power amplification.

Listened again to this system. The bass is certainly NOT lacking. That slight softness (or warmth) is still there, but not aiming too much towards mushy.
The 303 with a passive can indeed return good results.
Someday, if I fancy having more power and clout. Will the Quad 606 (mk2?) provide that?

Have you tried a fully modded Net Audio 405-2? I was lucky enough to drop on one several months ago and can say that I'm very impressed.

Nothing much has changed. I reverted back to the Roksan Kandy 2 weeks ago. The Neats sound better with the Roksan IMO. That doesn't mean that the Quad 303 failed though! S.   |
