I don't for one minute think that Clarkson is a nice guy. He is self opinionated and has a massive ego - but that is common to many celebrities, comes with the territory. He is not politically correct - so what? The problem is that he has an ability to throw his toys out the pram and have a tantrum - a bit of his logical brain switches off and he gives vent until he hauls himself back into control. And there seems to be evidence that he is contrite afterwards and apologies profusely.
Toys out the pram is what clearly happened when offered sausage rolls because the kitchen had closed (question is why was a top class hotel's kitchen closed at 9:30pm).
I'd certainly have been pretty pissed if I'd worked my socks off all day, was starving hungry, and all there was was bar snack type food. I am known to be very grumpy when hungry. Would I have lost my trolley to the extent that Clarkson did? No, absolutely not. But I'd have been looking for a plan B (or in Clarkson's shoes, asking the producer what plan B was) - where are the local restaurants? Where are the takeaways? Can a pizza or curry be delivered?

I eat 6 times a day as I start to wobble badly if not. (Not full meals !)
Deprive me of food for any length of time and I feel spaced out, longer and I will become a not very nice person. Anglo Saxon only my starting point
Having said that I'd have taken the (vegetarian) sausage rolls
On the rare occasions I'm out on a fairly long day I take food and drink to take onboard anytime I want.
Hmm. Started out thinking I was defending the big man. Now I'm not so sure
Ramble ramble

What about replacing him with Sabina Schmidt? That would be an inspired and welcome choice.

I think she would be a good co-presenter and clearly has great driving skills, but it would need May or Hammond to lead the show, in my opinion.

You assume the reason clarkson lost his temper is because he was hungary .That appear to be further and further from the truth as the days past .

There are many reasons why he lost his temper, but on a public forum I'm not going to list them all here - hunger, pfffftt . . . poor man, how terrible for him.

Well if it was a big plate of "Mince n Tatties" (Minced beef and Potatoes - to you English)... . Jesser was expecting, only to be told the producer had made a boo boo, then fair enough - Heads must roll.

Being a country would be quite a lot of pressure on him and could explain why he reacted the way he did.

Being a country would be quite a lot of pressure on him and could explain why he reacted the way he did. Umm, what does that mean?

Yeah, he is bang to rights in the (single side) BBC report. But if I had been in Oisin's shoes, had been verbally abused and told he was sacked and then hit, I'd absolutely have given as good as I'd got with change.
