Collect only on Ebay (and anything else) has to be special for me to travel for an hour. Driving is such a pain these days

Absolutely However my days of going to Bath, Bristol, Maidstone, Milton Keynes, Essex (!) and similar far flung places are behind me. Would have to be a staggering bargain of rocking horse dropping availability to entice me

I usually make a day out of it and find other places to visit in that area or on the way.

That's what the boss likes to do.
I want to get up early, get there, get back as quick as possibly, get on with life. In and *out* of London before 10am on a Sunday is always good

Ah yes, but too much "rushing around" is debilitating.
Nice to take things easy and enjoy the process.

I will also make a day of it. The Gale speakers were an absolute bargain collect-only, I don't regret buying those.

"Collection only" bargains are one of the few things that make me wish I could drive. Not much chance of collecting on a bicycle.

I agree !
This was a pickup when passing and drop off when passing so you might win the auction Sunday, organise pickup for say Thursday and delivery Monday

£69 is very good.
I bought some Exposure amps in London and got two quotes. One was from a hifi courier and was about £250. I thougt this was very steep until I realised he would literally pick up and drive all the way up here. I also tried a pack and send company who would call from their nearest branch (about 10 miles away from the amps), pack the amps and take them to a UPS drop off point. That was over £300!
In the end, the seller got a friend who was travelling North to drop them off for £80. Still not cheap when he was effectively passing, but worth it to me.

Saw a couple of those when I visited Dave at Radlett Audio. Chunky little things aren't they ?
