One thing good though. You can be sure that if they are tested, they will be a perfectly matched octet!!!

I wonder how you 'carefully remove' the glass envelope?

It seems an odd turntable/arm combination.

i guess somebody's probably cashed in on the Stogi at some stage. Pity, because that deck really deserves a Kuzma arm. There can't be many of them in the UK.

When I used to work at AEI Cables, one pair of stranding machines I operated had them. Used to be be a bit of a bugger running 105 strand cable and getting a snap. You had to feather the strands and join one at a time and slow the speed right down to get past the die and bow, and once on the take-up drum and none of the joins had failed, you could then turn the speed back up.
Happy Days…

Always wanted a pair of these stands. As the BIN price was pretty reasonable, I decided to get them. Disassembled, cleaned, polished and went over with a marking pen, came up quite good: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281889754113

Ah, HBS1's with original tubular bases I think. I agree, they were really good stands. I suggest getting some 12mm x 3.5mm approx. clear adhesive feet to place on each top corner. Speakers are than safely supported and ever so slightly decoupled then and FAR less damaging than the top spikes we originally fitted.

Yep, those bleedin spikes have ruined so many good pairs of speakers over the years.

The bases have holes for spikes but there's none in the top-plate, just the countersunk ones for the screws that fix it to the lower sections.
Have some replacement endcaps coming.

IIRC the HBS1 came with both countersink Allen bolts and the same sort of top spikes you got with Linn Kan stands. I had a pair back in the 80s with ES14s. This was before the Epos stands came out. I thought the HBS1 stands were excellent. Very well made and extremely stylish too. They still are IMO.

Yes I would love to hear this paired with my Stogi - I reckon that will be a lot of deck for the money...

No collection in person. Always very suspicious.
