Sky knows that shutting the BBC out of some races will give it more subscriptions so it's unlikely to settle for any deal that give all races back to the BBC. Personally I think F1 needs to give the BBC all races back without breaking them financially if it wants to remain mainstream. The BBC only have themselves to blame. I was listening to their sports headlines yesterday after Hamilton got pole. What did they lead with? Effing cricket! I'm all for the BBC getting all races back, but they have to earn it by stopping blanket coverage of football and cricket to the exclusion of nearly everything else.

What a crazy outcome Hamilton had in the bag until the pit stop

I've not seen any follow up yet. Has there been any explanation for what certainly seemed a crazy decision?

You couldnt make it up. He did everything asked of him and to achieve what he set out to do. Merc have effectively kicked him in the nuts and handed Rosberg a cheap triple. I Feel for Hamilton but he'll bounce back. It also makes things tighter at the top and stops the groanings of certain fans who say it's boring when someone dominates /wins all the time. Well they got what they wanted today - something to talk about.

Sky have everything and all you have are the news reports. Not surprising they spend time on the cricket reports as it likely still has a bigger following than motor racing. Agree Sky should be banned from having a near monopoly on important national sporting events and hand GP back to BBC. If dumbos stopped paying them to watch live sport the sport administrators would start to look at terrestrial again even if it's commercial stations like channel 5.

If dumbos stopped paying them to watch live sport Not that I follow football or pay for Sky Sports but what choice do they have? It doesn't make them 'dumbos'.

It's strange how lots of drivers have "bogey" circuits. Looks like this is becoming one for Hamilton.

It's one of those things, and he has to suck it up. Tough one for him, though, as he dominated most of the weekend. The team cocked it up and I'm sure after the dust has settled that they won't make that mistake again. Unlucky for Hamilton, but it'll make him even more glinty eyed in future.
Ferrari have a very strong and competitive looking car and two handy drivers, too.

What a cockup by Mercedes today! Oh well it'll just get Lewis feeling more fired up in future races

The cars are so fragile, as witness the differing fortunes of Hamilton and Vettel today. I really like the Canadian circuit, it separates the men from the boys. Tomorrow should be a good race (remember both Mercedes suffered failures last year).

After the cruel loss at Monaco, let's hope Hamilton does better in Canada, certainly getting Pole would have helped

He did, and thoroughly deserved the win. I don't think Rosberg had the measure of him at any point in the race.
Great races from the back by Vettel and Massa, too.

Yep Lewis was out on his own to be honest. Good race win, showing his overall dominance.

Lewis was in control but both Nico and Lewis were driving to fuel and brakes parameters. Not a lot of racing from them unfortunately.

Yes, the fuel rules in particular are too limiting.

That's got to be the luckiest pole of Hamilton's career. Still, luck ebbs and flows and he's jammed his way into one by doing the right thing in the middle sector just when it counted. Hulkenberg was amazing!

Red Bull are really starting to pee me off with their constant Renault focused whingeing. Sure the Renault engine is down on power in comparison with the Mercedes and Ferrari power units, however their problems can't be laid solely at Renault's door as Torro Rosso seem to be pretty competitive using the same power plant. That leaves the chassis then...

Agreed. How quickly they forget their crowing when they were winning their four championships with a clearly superior car.
