Kraftwerk_The_Man_Machine by losenotaminute, on Flickr I'm a big fan of electronic music, and this is one of the best Kraftwerk albums IMO. Originally released in 1978, it features 'The Model' which was released as a B side to Computer Love - another great Kraftwerk track. Read more about The Man-Machine at Wikipedia. https%3A//soundcloud.com/s-a-2/kraftwerk-the-man-machineIf you like Kraftwerk, you might also try Tangerine Dream and Human League. Happy New Year! Lawrence

Great choice Lawrence, it's one of my favourites of theirs. I shall listen again with pleasure.

Thanks for sharing Lawrence its always good to be challenged I been trying to listen to this on Grooveshark and it is the same issue I always have with this type of music I just do not get emotionally connected to it as to repetitive. Sorry not for me if I vote it be a 1 I just do not get this style of music.

Sorry not for me if I vote it be a 1 I just do not get this style of music. No worries, I appreciate that it's not everybody's cup of tea. As for being repetitive, that's what I like about it! A bit like Bruckner, only good ;-)

Hah - yes, Bruckner is a good example, as are many other classical pieces. I guess I like a lot of electronic music for the beat, the visceral nature of it and the integration of melodies that you just want to go on and on. Playing The Man Machine now, I still like it as much as ever although it doesn't get played very often. I have to say that the live versions of some of the tracks on Minimum-Maximum are even better.
For further listening I would recommend Air. Thanks for the Album Choice, Lawrence. 8/10.

A fabulous album. The Kraftwerk CD box set, with all their album remastered, is one of my favourite items.

Interestingly, Kraftwerk's The Man Machine is featured as the vinyl icon in this Month's Hi-Fi News (Feb 2015), pp78-83.

I love the simplicity and the originality of the sound, helped of course by having completely new class of instruments to use. Lawrence

I remember borrowing a copy from a mate way back when. Was not that taken by it overall but always liked 'The Model'.

Thanks for that Lawrence, i rate this equally with Trans Europe Express, listening to it again and enjoying it, only thing is it's dates you, you ask yourself where's the time gone?, good electronic music expands the mind like no other genre i feel, i have a collection ranging from Kitaro to Tangerine Dream and everything else in between.
P.S. did anybody caught the BBC4 programme 'Keaftwerk, Pop Art' on Friday night?.

I gave it an 8, simply because I hadn't heard it for a long time, and I quite enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

Just made me wish more I'd have managed to get a ticket for one of the Tate shows.
