I'm watching Leave the World Behind with Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke, on Netflix.
Creepy, like an extended Twilight Zone. Very well done with especially good camera work.

It's not the clothing I'd be worried about!

That is WAY too large a post for me to digest in one sitting.
Will have to get back to you.

In very bad conditions, that can happen, but more often it's just great sheaves of snow coming off car roofs. Going past lorries (trucks) can be a lot worse as they sling snow and crap everywhere, momentarily blinding you.

I changed my thermostat to a Mishimoto 76°C one to better suit the supercharger. This was first researched and developed by Cosworth as a supercharger solution for my car model and it definitely gives a little more pickup and punch in the midrange. I'm noticing that the car's heater doesn't pump out roasting air as before, but there's still no problem warming up the cabin in these temperatures.

I would not fancy cycling anywhere in those temperatures.

SMSL Q5 Pro £80 + £3.75 in Basingstoke. Mine still works perfectly running my PC speakers.

-7C this morning, our office at the top of the building with all four sides exposed to the weather was seriously bracing.
I turned the heaters on at 06:30 but it was 30 mins before I could take my jacket off.
Luckily still no ice on the roads.

2 weeks at 3 mechanic shops to figure out that my overheating problem came was a result of bad thermostat and water pump. Weeeeee. Any decent car workshop should have found that immediately.

Birdsong is indeed starting to return, and we get a lot of it around here.

Glad you are enjoying your music so much. Now stop faffing about and enjoy it more. LOL Yessir - it's all I've been doing apart from commuting and sleeping.

Been a bit quiet on the forum of late, perhaps it's just the dark and cold nights of winter. Certainly is for me, what with the long dark commutes and the cold itself. Sometimes I feel like hibernating.

No turning back from streaming The attraction of almost-infinite-library is so compelling. I can chase many rabbits down holes, rather than worry about what media to buy next. Different world.

Gosh, that is tempting. I'll see what we're doing in March, it's tricky at the moment.

It's forecast for -6C by tomorrow morning again. Not much snow so far, but one rain shower followed by a freeze will render commuting pretty much impossible.

Measurements identified this issue of slight but noticeable emphasis around the 2-4kHz range. That’s how Gustard and others which implemented the ESS 9038 chip corrected the issue. Without measurements this issue would have continued with company’s blind faith in 'plug and play' implementation of the ESS 9038 chip. Oh, now I see your point. I thought for a moment you thought I had measured it! That intermodulation hump was clearly audible and I couldn't mod around it. Dead end, sadly. As I said, measurements are helpful up to a point. There's still a huge amount we can hear that we cannot measure, though.
