Nearly suggested that a while ago when I saw it. But thought maybe it wasn't really what you might be looking for. It works fine but I don't really need it as I rip the very few CDs I have that are not on streaming and put them into Google Drive. That way I can play them exactly the same as streaming. Just a bit of fun sometimes to be able to play a CD (including guest CDs) on my system when required.

I still marvel at how good my Oppo X3 Find Lite is, there is really nothing it can't do.
However, I was reading about the new Samsung S24 Ultra yesterday and found it lustful in every way, including the way it looks. Incredibly pricy, though. Down, boy...

I've found my set of Big Pad Plus amazing under the streamer, a noticeable uplift from the Big Pads.
They're so good I've ordered another set of 4 to go under the DAC.

Amazing that they can pack all that in (balanced outputs and I2S, even) at that price.

Listening tonight after the system has settled for a few weeks and it's clear that the two JS-2 power supplies to the clocks, the Sapphire DC cables and Tubulus clock cables are giving a little more yet.
Very difficult to put it into words, but there is even more dimension and shape to notes, incredible tightness in the bass and slam galore.
This is wonderful music making.

I love 'booking fees' for automated online ticket booking. Just a euphemism for another mark-up.

I'll stick with Octopus who don't appear to discriminate by smart meter. I also went for a fixed tariff and the jury's out about that one.
I do send them readings every month in the app and they do adjust the billing, so I'll never be in that much credit.

Bodies on Netflix is highly recommended. A mind bending series with plenty of surprises. Best to go into a just enjoy the ride without any background research. I did enjoy it, a decent slice of SF and it didn't overstay its welcome.

Got it, it's Adnams Ghost Ship. Really lovely citrus pale ale, not too powerful, just compliments it well. There is a 0.5% alcohol version, too.

No, it was one before the big fad - citrus lemon infused, nothing fancy, but it really tasted good.

I like a good citrus alcoholic beer.
Racking my brains to remember the name of the best one I've tried.

I only compared on a true hi-fi basis with Tidal, and that sounded worse than Qobuz no matter which album I tried. Shiny, polished, brittle.

Should be, but isn't for me. And once you get into hi-res, there's no competition.

Don't all the streamers go to the same base ? Not necessarily the same source material. What about versions & remasters? What about hi-res?

Surely a fair streamer in a fair system could do a fair job ? I'm sure it would be a fair performance, but that's not nearly good enough. I didn't switch to streaming to go backwards.

According to that map, us Southerners will be spared Jocelyn.
I don't know, though, wind's picking up again.
