Here is my new Shanling spinner which is replacing my ailing Consonance ... Very impressed with build quality and the silky smooth TEAC like drawer mech. Initial listening excellent - heaps more bass, smooth, non-fatiguing but still good dynamics. So far so good!

Well my Sony died and got replaced by these; Yamaha s796 DVD/CD player : And a NAD T 512 : Not a patch on some of the machines here but very good for £15 each. The Yamaha sits in my wee listening room and the Natural Sound tag describes it very well. Seems to just play the music and not add anything which I like. The NAD is crisper and pretty good as well. No idea what the DVD playback is like!

I have changed my CD player tonight.
I won a Denon DVD-3910 player on Ebay for £10, but it (seemingly) will not play DVDs
I picked it up (locally) about an hour ago, and it's now playing sweetly through the Bushmaster 2. It seems well built and certainly not "lightweight".
EDIT. It plays SACD as well (3 different ways) so I'm even more pleased.

This is the rear view (library picture).

Take a look at the back - see that region code (1) and NTSC label? It means it's coded for region 1 (US) DVDs. Probably works fine. Absolute bargain for £10!

I did say they were library pictures (Google image). Mine is PAL & NTSC region 2 and black finish. Champagne would have been preferred but at £10 who cares. I don't want to play DVDs, so that was no problem for me. I'm currently playing a 2 disc SACD set from Sony, a demo set I think. First time I've heard SACD properly at home and it is impressive.

Ah, sorry, missed that.
Glad the SACD side is working for you. Well worth picking up a few.

The Denon does SACD 3 ways, 5.1 - 2 channel - CD
I listened in 2 channel via the analogue outs. As far as I know you cant get proper SACD on the SPDIF output.

Oppo 103D here.
Hooked up to my Young dac with a Black Cat Silverstar 75 BNC cable, last spinner I'll own. Sounds from the stock analogue outs are pretty good, but improved a fair bit into the Dac. Was thinking to get the 105D as my "last player" but never got on with Sabre dacs and anyways, the video circuitry is the same in both players. See a few folk use granite boards on top to reduce vibration? Did something similar with the Oppo, lined the casework and the disc mechanism with "dedshete" material, anti vibration material used for speaker cabinets and it now weighs a ton, is acoustically dead and most importantly sounds noticably better. Bluray picture substantially improved too. More mods to come...looking into swapping out the internal switchmode power supplies for something linear and improving the digital output. Looking at a new analogue out dac board too. Dont play discs much nowadays, streaming and vinyl mostly, but still have a couple of hundred CDs and enjoy a spin now and again.

Here is the ACTUAL DVD player on the rack, next to the Bushmaster 2.
Underneath is my Audionote copy pre-amp and the Bushmaster PSU (Maplins).
