What interconnects do you use with the Copland 266 Andrew? I used to love that player, although the over sexy 288 won my heart at the time

I'm using SSC, Dave. I've yet to hear any interconnect that's bettered any NVA. I truly loved the original Soundpipes and SSP but mine were just too short to deal with the variety of different boxes and socket locations. None ever broke on me though. All the NVA nterconnects I've had have been very well soldered.

Ayre C-5xe MP Is that a piece of Stardust Quartz tile on top of the Ayre, Martin? I've got some of those tiles spare from the Kitchen I've just fitted. I could cut a piece and try it if it's worthwhile.

It's a Morrisons granite place mat. They're very good at weighing down components and preventing resonances. I took that photo before properly trimming the sticky-back felt I put under them. The smaller coasters are great for small components, too, and dead cheap.

I've got a couple of granite chopping boards. I'll give it a go with some sticky backed felt

So it still needs a top and bottom steadying control
When I have have some willing spare hands I'll try mine without it sitting on the Mana reference top

The SSP's used just the inner conductors as you know, so anything other than very careful forming of the outer 'pipes' could be an issue - I'm as ham-fisted as the rest of you added together, so know how fragile this cable could be in the wrong hands. The stranded conductors used now don't have an issue although Steve commented that he couldn't bend the TIS to go where it needed to go, so he gave up.
Sorry - drifting...

P1010071 by Mike Griffiths, on Flickr I actually got Flickr to work That's an hour or two I'll never get back It's even heavier than it looks. From the top Steve's dampening weights Isis RDC 4 cones Steves wonder dampening platform RDC 5 cones Mana Reference top sitting on Mana Rack, sitting on Mana sound bases x 5 The Isis is wonderful. The extras make it even better Oh yes and the Marigo CD mat inside

Nice, looks a little different with Steve's dampers over the original granite slabs. Better or just different?

Fractionally better
As the system has improved overall it's time for another test. The difference may be larger

Never seen one in the flesh, Roy, but that matches the power amp rather nicely in their brutalist design. You've got a bit of a list on it, though
