As I said further up, if I was buying again then LS7 is equally as good with a very slight difference in balance but quite a lot cheaper.

But that one is very expensive to build heatsink come to £300 alone yikes.

Read Colins input on AOS. Hope there is more in the tank for him....I aint too cued up on such things but a TAS crowd funded amp/cables would be good fun.
We all throw in a few quid and get a no nonsense great music making solution off the back of a great designer passionately focussed on music enjoyment!!!!

To throw any TQ gear in the bin is not the approach to take. I don't think it will help Colin at all. Colin has taken my TQ amp and modified it, he wants me to enjoy what I have bought not put it in the bin. I appreciate the sentiment though. Yes I'm looking forward to building the New big Class A. I bought two super duper toroidals for it, all specifically designed for the application of course. Could have cost me £60 for the pair, instead it was a bit more than that. Hopefully worth it, a spot on psu is key to any good power amplifier.

A How To feature using said circuit boards to build an amp would be very interesting.

when you and the X part, she can dump it for you with all your other private stuff, and things Mum and Dad bought you for your 21st That is very, very nasty. Even when I split with my 2nd wife, and we were hardly on speaking terms, we didn't do that to each other. In fact, the financial split was quite amicable and fair. This is all sad, but having experienced marriage breakups in the past I know what you guys went through. Recently I saw a picture on face book of my ex (the 2nd) with our grand daughter and when I looked long and hard at my ex the first words I uttered were, 'thank gawd I don't have to wake up each morning to that'! Its absolutely true, time is a healer and I've been with my true wife for the past 33 years plus and I now wonder why oh why did I beat myself up all those years ago. You can, with time and a little direction, make your life happier and better... go for it Colin. And Martin, bravo for re-building yours.
PS Colin that avatar of you isn't you trying to drown yourself is it, not worth it mate ? Bought Colin's Inca Tech gold plated 15amp plugs and sockets in 1985 and they were in use up until recently but for insurance sake I changed to 13amp plugs and sockets. The Inca Tech ones where really good.

No I was trout fishing the hard way in Lynton Devon in May 1990, I was on honeymoon with Jenny. She died 3 days later in a car crash, but this made her giggle so much I kept it.

Very sad story, Colin. That was unfair of life in the extreme. I was lucky, I had 9 years with my first wife, much more time than we were given, before she finally succumbed to cancer. I have been lucky again: I found another soul-mate with whom I have just celebrated six very happy years together.
I recount this as another way of saying: never give up, you don't know who you might next meet.

I have been lucky again: I found another soul-mate with whom I have just celebrated six very happy years together. I recount this as another way of saying: never give up, you don't know who you might next meet. Well done Martin, it was a little more complex than I said, unbeknown to me Jenny had cancer also, and she was very strangly religious. I wanted me to go to heaven with her. And at the inquest at Barnstable all this came out including the suicide letter she had sent her cousin. She crashed the car near junction 22 on the M5 which rolled the car leaving the engine on the road as we went over the crash barrier. The windscreen never broke and swung round as we crashed into a large rock, causing her decapitation. Leaving me jammed in the car with a smashed arm and broken ribs and few cuts, and by the time the police came the car was burning. The nice cop pulled me out burning himself and breaking my arm at the elbow (ouch). It took me many year to even talk about it and after lots of session with and nice psychologist call Andy at Yeovil, I started to stop having nightmares, thank god. But hey I am still here and I still love Jenny even though she has gone on. God bless her the date was 20th May 1990 at 3.30PM so this year it would have been 15 yrs I still miss her Yorkshire giggles today. And many many friends have and are still helping me today thank you all. This is the first time I have written about this in public, but it will let you all understand that we can all fight back given help and respect and lots of love from family and friends a like.

It is OK I now have sympathy for others in crap street, and always talk to anybody with a problem, it does give you a the ability to feel.
