Well, I'd say that most people reading the post will have read it as referring to cables - I certainly did and I suspect anyone not seeking to pick an argument will have done so too. Additionally, anyone who actually read the entire post before jumping to conclusions (or seeking to continue a pre-existing argument) might pause to reflect on the fact that NVA don't actually sell a range of integrated circuits with which to upgrade anything.

Yes, it's seems that someone was more intent on playing the man rather than the ball. Eutherthat or he doen't know what he is talking about

Cheers John, I hate ugly wires..... I think it was Tony that mentioned that headphone rigs need a bit of running in, to the tune of a couple hundred hours......He could well be right, cause ive put a bit of time in now, and they do sound better....more settled.!!!

I take it you can leave the NVA kit switched on, save on the warm-up?

Jammy, With a system that neat and tidy, the headphone cable must be driving you nuts!

I'd think having a good control of balance is important for phones and vital for you if you have one partially dodgy lughole. In which case mono controls make really good sense. Absolutely, which is why I think every respectable headphone amp should have one. I have noticed over time that some recordings sound off centre through headphones, and can then make for uncomfortable listening. A quick adjustment of the balance control, and everything snaps back into place. Definitely and it is not only through headphones, speakers as well. Today the audio mix is not related anymore to the real on stage instrument placement as well. Only quite few take care about it. Look for instance on the liner notes pictures from the recording session or concert and compare instrument placement to what are you actually hearing. It's common nowadays IMHO.

Dunno guys my ears are like my vision, 20/20, and I have zero inclination to adjust balance album by album, just like I don't adjust VTA per record, but what I do know is that any balance pot will add a sound signature whether it is in use or not!
If you do have differences in hearing between ears then two seperate pots is just a stereo pot split in two, so no more parts.
I wonder though Jammy those headphones look hungry(!), so it'd be interesting to see how easier headphones like Grados or Sony MDR-V6 are wtih the AP10H vs. Jammy special.

Listening with my Grados or Sonys I can't get much past half volume without the pain setting in.

I've never been a fan of headphones.
I take it my Koss K-6 headphones would be more at home in a museum ?
Perhaps I should look on Ebay for something a bit more modern/better performing.
