R.L.Burnside
Colosseum
Country Joe and the Fish
Mott the Hoople
coming to a set of ears near me
R.L. Burnside recording stripped right back, instruments separated as never before, bass that was never there. Burnside grandson's drumming never clearer on Come on in
Bass and dynamic punch superb on A bothered mind Peaking at 88db, TAD set @ 152

The gap between well made albums and even quite well made is accentuated now
Colosseum : I know their albums very well indeed
Those Who Are About to Die Salute You - 1st album plays very well, giving more detail and separation than ever before.
Valentyne Suite Big uplift in sound quality as soon as it started playing - from a better made product I assume. Real surprise
"Live" up next

Valentyne Suite has been added into the playlist Just started Colosseum Live at a sensible 73db as I am not alone, peaking at 78. TAD @147 Sounds as wonderful as I hoped, such clarity. Slinger I wish you could be here to revel in this This will also join the playlist and be played at the right volume when I can What a staggeringly good band Colosseum were RIP Dick and Jon

It was very nice visiting Mike this evening and hearing his all-TAD system for the first time. The music flows in a very natural way, detail and dynamics are there and that SACD player is getting a lot out of the data for sure. I felt that it really came alive when we turned the wick up and we played some of my favourite test songs so that I could evaluate it more easily. The effect of the RTZ grounding box is very evident, which I recognise as the same areas of goodness that my grounding boxes bring to my system. Dire Straits sounded excellent, always a good thing in my book.
It was a good catch-up and I was pleased to introduce Mike to Juliette Commagere, one of my favourite chanteuse who was accepted in spite being a female, gosh!

A grounding box is an essential for anyone serious about hearing more music. Juliette Commagere's family connections and track record make her an exception I have to make Country Joe and The Fish - Feel like i'm fixin to die is a different album to the one I heard before Amazing an album made in 1967 has so much in it

Mott the Hoople 1st album allows more to be revealed than ever before. Another back in the playlist Shame it is seemingly not available on Spotty or YouTube for everyone else
Had to play Motorcycle Diaries again after not believing how very different it was last night. No surprise it still is very different to how I have heard it before the big upgrades.
The full 23 track version !
There is variation in how much is available to the new system from the albums I have The odd disappointment with many 'new' versions as well as loads inbetween

L'Arpeggiata and Jeff Beck - You had it coming, delivering more than ever before, however Ry Cooder - Chavez Ravine is delivering a vast amount more music than I have ever heard. Truly wonderful. Bliss
Minor mods put in without testing Granite placemat on top of the RTZ 3 and full size Black Ravioli underneath. Changing the separate Belles Pre Amp to the TAD combo and going from 2 Monos gives me spares.
Strange seeing a total of only 4 boxes on 2 x 4 shelf racks
TAD CD/Pre/DAC TAD Power Audio Magic Mains conditioner Coherent RTZ 3
Will take a photo when a bit tidier

A nice afternoon spent with SteveC yesterday comparing our experiences with the Coherent RTZ 3. Both of us are sold on the effects and Steve brought CDs to check out the sound Confess Chris Rea not really for me until we played Road to Hell Sounded rather good. Need to listen more. My memory has gone on the others. Please remind me Steve. Another Bajofondo Tango Club fan in the making I think Able to play at volume today and a perfect candidate in Jeff Beck - You had it coming. A glorious amount of dynamics, bass and slam Peaking at 87db, TAD @ 155 Keep digging with system improvements and this gives more than can be reasonably expected. This is one of *the* albums you must have

Hi Mike
Thanks for the music day on Wednesday!
Bajofondo Tango Club - Superveille will be here tomorrow!
As well as tracks from Chris Rea's "Road to Hell" CD, principally "Texas" and "Daytona," we played "The Blue" and other tracks from David Gilmour's "Live in Gdansk!"

Also, we played "Woman in Chains" and "Advice for the young at heart" from "Seeds of Love" - Tears for Fears!
Your system is sounding great and every album had something to offer!

Sorting the wheat from the chaff
First time heard on the system Nine Inch Nails - Broken. That voice grates much more than I have ever heard before. Soundgarden - A Sides. Stripped back and not nice to listen to, vocals especially. Neal Schon - The Calling. Like the album. Lovely guitar. Sound ok. Hoped for more.
All change - The big difference
John Cale - Hobo Sapiens. An extremely well made album with bass from the depths, full sound, nicely balanced, everything beautifully separated

Nine Inch Nails - Broken. That voice grates much more than I have ever heard before. Not sure if you'll have seen this Mike, but Broken - along with other 90s albums - received a remaster from Reznor and co a couple of years ago. It's only available on vinyl though, but if you buy the records you get the files too. It probably won't do much to alter the character of his voice, but the new master of Broken does seem to be an improvement.

Thanks Will listen to more NIN Much prefer his soundtracks with Atticus Ross If you like his stuff with Ross, it's worth noting that nine inch nails is now equal parts Reznor and Ross. Their last album 'Bad Witch' is excellent imo.
