So much music ! Playing John Peel tapes upstairs and along come tracks from Talking Heads and Fear of music - apt  Probably their best Now playing on the big system. Wonderful. Glorious and other superlatives Detail, width, bass and mid range slam I never knew was there So many great tracks it is hard to pick the best All this detail hidden until now |

Superb sound has taken a few more steps up with the change of Coherent 4D to 6D cables on the RTZ grounding box. Tony mentioned a vinyl playing customer who has just experienced a surprisingly big step up with the RTZ. Which brings back me to a question The TAD Pre is digital only so needs a box to convert analogue from vinyl, tape decks and other to digital. Could go for an A-D converter TASCAM: DA-3000 Master Recorderor a streamer like device like the Nova Fidelitywhich can take in analogue and put out digital. Both can give me what I want now. Not sure which would sound best or what would be the best box for me in the future Thoughts ? |

They all take analogue inputs as far as I am aware. Certainly the X40, X45, X45 Pro and X50 all do.

No cycling today as a bit too cold or was it the appeal of listening the music........ Powaqqatsi just played, currently on Visions of the Emerald Beyond* More and more detail being dug out of the same CDs Detail, bass, space and reality, oh yes and VOLUME Always went for volume when I wanted to hear more. Now I have the 'more' I always wanted. *Michael Walden – on percussion and drums is no Billy Cobham, but he does a wonderful and different job to the Mk1 version of Mahavishnu. Saw this lot in the Albert Hall - another of the best gigs I ever went to |

Jaya vertex AQ mains filter grabbed on Ebay for not a lot.
Tested then plugged in and listened again.
Surely this cannot also improve the sound ?
First listen says yes (!?)
Will test again as I'm finding this hard to believe with all the mains plugs I now have.
Now to work out how to access the sockets I have behind racks and cupboards

Snap ! Only socket I can use and even that displaced non hifi stuff. How ridiculous are all these mains effects on system sound quality ? What is in our mains ? How many different criteria are there ? How much do we really know ? What don't we know ? If I put this cabled box on a BR or two will it sound better ? Cannot believe I have lived my life this long and never heard James Gang - Thirds in such fantastic detail and quality Now the Quest for more sockets |

Sounding better than ever
The punch in the midrange and welly in the bass takes some believing
TAD volume 154
Enjoyment 100%
My mate* came around yesterday and he was surprised how good it sounded
