I watched a decent documentary on H.P. Lovecraft the other day. I think I saw it on Prime, but I've just discovered it's available on YouTube too. Guillermo del Toro, Neil Gaiman, John Carpenter, Peter Straub, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Ramsey Campbell, Stuart Gordon, S. T. Joshi, Robert M. Price, and Andrew Migliore all contribute.

Not seen it - I think I would find it too distressing.

Just a reminder, the new series of Mark Kermode's "Secrets of Cinema" starts tonight (Monday 11/01/21) at 21:00, on BBC4 and on iPlayer. It's spread over three episodes, as before, and tonight is all about British Comedy. Next week it's "Pop" Music and Cinema, and the series ends with (if I remember correctly) Underground movies becoming "Cult Classics".

It's free on Amazon Prime, so I'll definitely be watching that, thanks Mike.

I recorded Mark Kermode last night, and I've just started watching it. Already I know I need to watch "The Personal History of David Copperfield" which, happily, is free on Amazon Prime.
So far there's been no real "Carry On..." content, but fast-forward may yet prove to be a Godsend.

I've not been wanting to watch anything too demanding for some months now, so tonight ended up watching Three Billboards, LOL.
Not what I was expecting at all - thought it was going to be a straight drama and not a black comedy.
Superb performances of course, a truly great ensemble cast.

Perhaps not remarkable but we quite enjoyed it By the sea That was a surprising look into a very dark time in a relationship, very well portrayed by the two stars, and set in some stunning backdrops with beautiful cinematography. Its length and slowness wouldn't appeal to many, but it's a film to luxuriate in.

Interesting to see it was also directed by Angelina Jolie.
Will check it out.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 ~ 2020 ‧ Drama ‧ 2h 10m
Man did this film rile me up, for all the right reasons. Neflix are hitting it out of the park just now with some quality content...
