Band of Brothers was a huge step forwards in presenting reality. If this can do as good a job or better it will be a grim watch

Ok - again not really a film but well well worth a watch.
It's a three part thing on Netflix called November 13th : Attack on Paris. It details the events of that dreadful evening using testimony from eye witnesses and some TV footage. Sad,angering, jaw dropping and very, very touching.
I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. I am a long time Quentin Tarantino fan. This one was not my favorite of his but... very long, very slow.. Very cool Edit: I actually find myself missing the setting and atmosphere of this film since I saw it hours ago. The events that took place were interesting and cool but Tarantino really knows how to put you in a time and a place. It felt real. No eye rolls. Great job. I saw it on Tuesday. I have to say I was entertained throughout and didn't notice the time passing. So many good observations and funny moments, like the dog food. The sequence with Bruce Lee was hilarious, too. It was interesting looking at the cars - how big is that white Coupe de Ville? Only two doors and I've seen trucks that are smaller! The little sporty blue Alfa? was nice, as was the MG. And being a Tarantino, of course, there has to be a shit-storm flame thrower fest of epic proportions somewhere in it!

1922 on Netflix , it's not a star studded blockbuster , far from it , a simple story line with about 6 actors . It's from a Stephen King novella and what I like about it is that it typifies his writing perfectly , I always feel they don't get his books right on film but this short story nails it .

I've just watched Blade Runner 2049 again in 4K at home. What a truly remarkable film Denis Villeneuve has made, a proper homage to the original. I luxuriated in the details while making more sense of the storyline by watching it a second time. 2h 44m of totally compelling viewing and Ryan Gosling is perfect for the part of 'K'. One of my very few 10/10 films and simply one of the best films made.

You should experience it in 3D, with 5.1 sound, Martin.

The family film tonight was The Terminator on Blu-ray. Turned out to be cheaper to buy it new on Amazon the other day than buy it used on eBay!
Wow - what a pristine transfer. Even on my old 1080p TV the detail is just superb. Not seen it for many years but it's so much fun.

It's a great film and wonderfully convoluted timeline as the story arc continues.

Films lately Once up ton a time in Hollowood, the worst film he has made, only the last 20 minutes made the it passable, our local flick-house, at least two dozen people got up and left on our visit a few weeks ago. Shame he has produced some good movies in the past. Even the local Guardian reading blowhole film critics that had been blowing smoke up the films ass since the trailers starting surfacing some months before were rather quiet after the members screening lol
IT 2 absolutely fucking dire and another overly long and utterly boring piece of drivel of the first order, Ad Astra last night, wonderful cinematic work, not quite the hype surrounding it but good none the less.

Last night I treated my son to a digital remaster of T2 on Amazon Prime Video.
The WiFi streaming was crap quality for some reason so plugged a network cable into the set top box for the first time and picture was then immaculate. Happy days.
What a state of the art action film it is. Of course some of the VFX hold up better than others today but no matter at all, it is relentlessly frickin' entertaining. You have to hand it to James Cameron and his vision for this film.
Linda Hamilton is quite exceptional in the way she throws herself into the character - she is so strong and physical. I want to see her kick ass in the new film for sure.

Yes, Hamilton being in the new film is a big draw for me. She still looks fit.

You guys do realise you're leching over a sixty-three year-old woman, right?

Should you be talking about Martin's missus like that, and in public too, Jules?
