Terminator - Sarah Connor Chronicles is about to start again - a must I loved that series. Lena Headey in dark hair and leather. Drool.

Black Mirror
This series on C4 has been mostly excellent. Small one hour dramas set in dark or satirical futures. Thought provoking and, in the case of the implant episode, really powerful and unsettling. Still available for download on 4oD and well worth watching.

Suits is back, yesterday. My Tivo missed it. On Dave Player if you missed it Sky Nevermiss is a good service for reminding me, then I can just click and it sends a record command to the box.
Suits S4 on Dave HD has started well, as ever!

Ascension
It doesn't quite hang together: there is no way that the generation ship could have been built with 1960s technology, let alone have taken off vertically as is implied. However, a closer look reveals odd fashion styles, CRTs instead of flat screens etc. We'll have to see how it develops, but quite entertaining if a little 'Dallas in Space'.

Frankly, if anyone is able to get to the end of Ascension, they have a good stomach for third rate soap of the lowest order. It goes rapidly downhill into sub-Dysentery crap

Started watching Suits yesterday on Netflix, first couple of episodes were entertaining, but it has become so clichéd and predictable that I'm now struggling to continue with it (got as far as Episode 8). The casting is dire, the green newbie, the slick top dog, the underdog, the matriarch, the love interest - 'will they won't they' with Rachel and Mike and such unbelievable 30 minute conveyor belt law cases, sprinkled with occasional sex scenes and all loosely bound together by some very questionable scriptwriting. The only character to keep me mildly amused has been Donna, she's funny.
To me it's just another American cheesy courtroom drama that has been regurgitated so many times previously and a lot more competently.
Oh well, must be just me, but it's really not my thing . . . House of Cards mind you I am really enjoying, but it's early days for that one, but it would have to take a massive dive to make me dislike it.
Best for me are; (in no order)
The West Wing The Wire Breaking Bad The Sopranos The Shield The Killing (Danish version) Band of Brothers Lilyhammer and maybe 24, but I got tired of that after season 4.

It's not just you Tim. For me, the interest disappeared during early part of the last series. That particular story has been told now - time to move on!

I got tired of 24 after season 1. Seemed to much like they were making it up as they went along. Run out of baddies? Make a goodie a baddie and continue...

It's pure, and very funny, escapism. I love it as a weekly guilty pleasure. Donna is indeed a great character (and strangely alluring) and Rachel is simply gorgeous.

I got tired of 24 after season 1. Seemed to much like they were making it up as they went along. They were! I remember the scriptwriters admitting so, especially for S1.

For me, the best current series are jointly Game of Thrones and Homeland. The Bridge and The Legacy (two Scandinavian series) are close behind. Has anyone noted that Nina Persson, of The Cardigans, sings the theme song to The Legacy?

Has anyone noted that Nina Persson, of The Cardigans, sings the theme song to The Legacy? I dislike Homeland with a passion, but I think we have discussed this before? I would happily put one in the back of the head of that annoying woman, she makes me shout at the TV! The Bridge, excellent and I have yet to try GOT. Never heard of The Legacy, so research on the way

Watched episode one of Fortitude last night, despite my hating of all the hype built up by Sky over the last few weeks. Quite enjoyable - if looks like it could get interesting, although it was incredibly busy, with lots going on.

I have it recorded but haven't watched it yet. It's one of those I'm unsure about, so it'll either be left to pick up the series or deleted.
