Series 2 of "Troppo" has landed on Prime Video, and is billed as an " Amazon Original" whereas season 1 was a " freevee original". so, promotion of a sort. I enjoyed s1 and I'm looking forward to s2, even if there are still snakes (*shudder*) in it. Content advisory
Violence, substance use, alcohol use, smoking, foul language, sexual content. Yup, that ticks most boxes. Talking of The Expanse. Miller played by Thomas Jane, plays Ted Conkaffey in Troppo.

‘Dark Matter’ Renewed For Season 2 At Apple TV+Apple TV+ viewers might get the chance to finally find out how Dark Matter’s interdimensional travel works and which universe the main characters ended up in after the streamer renewed the sci-fi drama for a second season. The tech company has handed Dark Matter, which stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, a sophomore season after its nine-episode, first season ended in June. However, Blake Crouch, author of the book that the series is based on and creator, showrunner and executive producer of the series, will have to come up with new stories as there is no source material on the bookstands. Dark Matter, which comes from Sony Pictures Television, follows Jason Dessen, (played by Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who, one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago, is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns into nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself. Get that? Well, if you finished the first season, you’ll know there’s an element of ambiguity and a cliffhanger that opens the door for more stories. In fact, Crouch told Deadline earlier this summer, “ I never intended for the audience to have a definitive idea of where the family ends up, just like what happens in the book.” The series also stars Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley. Matt Tolmach also exec produces alongside Edgerton and Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry. “ Thanks to everyone who tuned in for season one—book fans and new fans—and of course our partners at Apple and Sony, my amazing producing partner, Matt Tolmach, our tremendous cast and crew, and the great city of Chicago—you were so good to us,” said Crouch. “In the process of writing and filming season one, we discovered that there’s so much more story to tell, and we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters as they fight for survival and to find their way home through a landscape of mind-bending realities. See you in the Box.” “ Making Dark Matter was a longtime dream, and I’m so proud to see Blake’s vision come to life and to connect with so many people,” said Tolmach. “ Seeing the Dessens’ journey resonate with audiences has been extremely gratifying, and we can’t wait to bring more of this world — and others — to life in season two. Huge thanks to Apple TV+, Sony and our amazing cast and crew. Here we go.” “ The thought-provoking and gripping Dark Matter has quickly become a global hit, capturing audiences’ imaginations and making it a beloved and integral part of Apple’s world-class sci-fi lineup,” added Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “ We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Blake Crouch, our partners at Sony and the rest of the creative team and cast — led by the remarkable Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly — on a new season that will captivate viewers with more twists and turns as we dive deeper into the mysteries of the multiverse.” SOURCE

I was about to say, there is no second Dark Matter book from Blake Crouch. He's going to be busy.
If it gives us more Jennifer Connelly, I'm all for it!
I'd like to see Crouch's Recursion made into a series next.

I've just finished watching s2 of Troppo, and it was as good as the first series.
s2 of "We Hunt Together" (iPlayer) is next - s1 was good - and then on to s2 of "Sherwood" (iPlayer) I think.

"We Hunt Together" is still good. If you fancy it I recommend watching s1 first if you missed it.
Here's the teaser for s1, and yes, that is Eve Myles from Torchwood. You don't see it in this little clip, but there is some humour in the scripts, and not just the "dark" humour one usually gets in this sort of mismatched-cops-and-serial-killers genre.

I'm watching Sunny, a weird stylish mystery drama about a western woman in Kyoto who has lost her Japanese husband and son. He left her a robot called Sunny.
That doesn't really cover the bizarre storyline. It's on Apple TV+.

It started with (two) bangs! Gary Oldman is more disgusting than ever. Slow Horses: after a promising start, Gary Oldman plays the most unsavoury sleazebag imaginable and the whole setting is highly sleazy. Very little to hang onto, no-one is likeable. Only Kristen Scott Thomas brightens the scenes. To use Mike's words, "nothing for me here". You obviously had an epiphany, and have seem the light.

Ah yes, Mike and I had a funny chat about that. Gave it another go and saw it in another light.
Oldman as Lamb still makes my skin crawl.
BTW, did you ever see Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula? Epic performance.

Yes, I saw that, and I don't think I've ever seen Gary Oldman turn in a bad performance.

Just saw the preview for the new season of Slow Horses. This looks good. I think I can stream it even without having Apple TV.
Would be great to find Black Bird too.

I've started watching Severance. Not at all what I was expecting. It's much more bizarre - alternate-worldy and mysterious with a great opening episode - than I was expecting. No idea where it's headed but I'm certainly going to watch E2.

We Hunt Together was good, as expected, and I'm 3 episodes into s2 of the excellent "Sherwood".

Severance is reminding me strongly of Counterpart. It's not the same, but has a similar one-world-to-another transition. Creepy overtones of corporate machinations.

We watched The Perfect Couple on Netflix. Nicole K and Bono's daughter among others. Oh and the blonde girl from Ripley too. Bit meh but we had no idea Who dunnit right until the end.
Then Kaos also on Netflix. The Greek gods but not as we read them in Classics. The writer has evisaged 3 series.
Who knows what next?
