The Bridge VS The Bridge or Bron as Swedish speakers would know it! I thought you guys were talking about The Bridge: The Bridge American TV dramaThis an edgy hard hitting one about the US / Mex border immigratio / trafficking issues. We're on the 2nd season now and like it. While you were talking about: The Bridge Swedish/DanishSomehow we missed this one or dismissed it?, back when first aired - can't recall doing that though. But we will give it a go from the start. I've got Swedish DVD's sent over, so no subtitles getting in the way! Looking the first few minutes, it seems the plot start may actually be identical - so different locations, different bridges, same plot?! Lot's of good telly for Marie and I. Anyway, I can recommend The 'American' Bridge as pretty good

Are you on S2 of The Leftovers, Steve? I find it more subtle and even more powerful than S1. Agree S2 is Darker than the first to me becoming really interesting. Blindspot Starts on Sky Living tomorrow evening, adverts do not give much away but hoping it is as good as it looks.

Fargo 2nd series also impressive Yes I liked the First season, this is completely different but really good. If you have Netflix check out Narcos, its different again from this Fargo but think you might like it.

One of the less than good things of living up a country road I'll put Narcos on the Tivo key word list though

The Bridge III has started well, two episodes in. Saga is as unpredictable as ever and might even have met her match. We shall see.

What a pleasant (if that's the right word) surprise series one of Penny Dreadful has been. It's nowhere near as "trashy" as we were expecting and speaking personally as a lover of traditional Gothic horror I found it highly interesting and fairly "accurate" where it counted. A passing knowledge of the original novels that the characters are drawn from gives things a little more depth but is by no means necessary. If you are expecting a remake of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen you'll be disappointed, it's not played for laughs although it has its measure of black humour, and Timothy Dalton (an ex James Bond of course) could probably be said to be playing the Sean Connery role. In fact, as the series unwinds he seems to be slowly morphing into Connery's Allan Quatermain...in a good way. The production values are very high and the wardrobe is excellent. I'd say that all in all it's pretty well up to feature film standards. I should also mention the cast. Excellent throughout and a cavalcade of good English (and one American) actors turning up all over the place. Series 2 will definitely be forthcoming. Any moans? Just the one really and for that's Billie Piper coping for the most part with a Northern Irish accent but surely they could have got an actress from N.I. to play the part?

I'm really enjoying Fargo too. I was worried that a series might not be so good because the film is a firm favourite in this household, but it's proving to be brilliant in this form.
