Dark S2 E6 (An Endless Cycle) has just blown my mind. This is epic story-writing, set up from the very first episode in beautifully convoluted fashion to end up here. I need to watch it again, just to bathe in the looped cause-and-effect and warped logic, all wonderfully set to music. The songs used have introduced me to a dozen acts I hadn't known until now.
Up to this point, Travelers has been my all-time favourite time travel show. Dark has just moved it to second place and there is still more to go.

I did try to tell everyone last year about DARK but I had no takers , it was frustrating because I knew others would like it , particularly you Martin as we have similar tastes , really glad you are enjoying it .

I'm going to mention in one last time, Comrade Detective (Amazon Prime). If you remember the "cold war" there are so many in-jokes to enjoy. In the episodes I've watched this weekend there has been a protest outside the American embassy in Bucharest, with placards ranging from "Go F*ck Another Country," to "Baseball Is Boring."
One cop says to another: "How can you trust Americans, the people who faked the moon landings, the people who rig the Olympics every year."
One of our "heroes" is framed, and one of his police colleagues remarks that he thinks that there's something fishy about it, saying: "I've been spying on Gregor for over 5 years, and I've never caught him doing anything wrong." He's banged up, by the way, because his six-year-old son informed on him.
If any of that sounds remotely amusing, I really would say give it a try. From the incredibly (and accurate) awful dubbing to the two talking heads that intermittently pop up at the start of an episode to talk about the show, and how it was made, it's a cult classic about a fake cult classic in the making.

Waiting for freeview or Amazon Prime...... Netflix is only a tenner a month. Buy it, binge watch both Travelers and Dark, then cancel.

I'll give that a go Paul as I've coughed up another month to finish Outlander , I've got about 15 episodes to go .

TV time is fully taken so don't have the time, certainly don't want to spend the time much as I would enjoy them Just about to start binging on the Tour de France as well as many other overlapping bike races. Any TV I sign for becomes a permanent done deal as the boss will demand we keep it

Wow, there's a series on Hulu called 'Lovecraft Country' and the reviews seem pretty positive.

Into the Dark we go!
Opening scene! I had a car club acquaintance once who committed suicide by putting his head on a railway line! Seemingly a lovely guy. What inner demons or insurmountable problems he must have had!
The intro is rather Band of Skulls (from Southampton) reminiscent.

I just watched Dark S3 E6 and it's quite stunningly put together. Beautifully choreographed weirdness.

I've finished Dark. It's beautifully formed and well sized, tells its story in three seasons and didn't overstay its welcome. Quite magnificent actually, and I can't imagine how they made it to any normal TV drama budget. The acting is uniformly excellent, the story so convoluted that I'll have to watch it again in a couple of years' time, the detail incredible.

Subtitles, of course. I never watch dubbed programming. I'm going to watch it again with subtitles , I only found out I could half way through season 2 so carried on dubbed , Season 3 dubbing was shocking , Season one was quite good .

I've just watched the first episode of Lovecraft Country. No spoilers, but it's a bit mind blowing. It's also a very timely reminder of how very recently racism was as natural as breathing to some Americans, and obviously still is. All I can say is "watch it." [EDIT] Jurnee Smollett is rather tasty.

Yes, I've watched the first one, too. Promising, and the setting of small-town redneck America is perfectly believable.

I'm watching War of the Worlds, the 2019 Anglo-French production loosely based on the HG Wells novel.
Don't think about the pretty rubbish Tom Cruise film or the equally crap BBC production, this is done far better and is really rather intriguing so far.

Episode 2 of Lovecraft Country, and it's starting to get a bit weird. Yes, if you thought episode 1 was weird, you ain't seen nothing yet.
