Another Swedish noir you'll be lucky to see.. Midnight sun or Midnattssol in Swedish In Swedish with a bit of French too. Set in the far north. I am thoroughly enjoying this on NowTV. Leïla Bekhti plays the French detective rather well. Really good. It has its faults but overall the Scandi-dark mood works very well. The theme song works extremely well, too.

The theme song works extremely well, too. I like the bit when she has arrived in The North, it's evening sort of she's travelling the final leg by helicopter. She asks the helicopter pilot quite innocently it seems, "when does the sun go down?" His reply "in a few weeks or so" 😀 It's rather mind bending for us, even more so for those coming from nearer the equator. The amount of light is intense, it's a bit like drinking strong coffee all the time.. your brain is tired but your penial gland says 'light, light, light come on, come on, let's go!'. You need really good black out curtains and not to get any light exposure at what is your night. I remember going into a night club in the daylight at 11pm, coming out worse for wear at 2am and it being blindingly daylight! Just wrong!

Sliders on Freeview Horror Ch 70 Starting with Pilot and into s.1 I remember watching that donkey's years ago, Mike. Johnathan Rhys‑Davies, wasn't it, and the rather lovely Tembi Locke, who was even more gorgeous in Eureka.

Johnathan Rhys‑Davies, wasn't it, and the rather lovely Tembi Locke, who was even more gorgeous in Eureka. I will be trying them again. Series 5 just finished. Only one remaining character and nowhere near as good. Think it went down from series 4

Don't know. Not heard of them The old imperfect Dune film is on Prime if you pay money Such good books and such a poor showing to view

Don't confuse the film (David Lynch) with the US miniseries. They're both interesting but flawed.
I've looked up Children of Dune and it covers Dune Messiah and Children of Dune books. It has nothing to do with the earlier miniseries.
Remember: the Denis Villeneuve Dune film is coming at the end of the year. If Blade Runner 2049 is anything to go by, it'll be epic.

I've just started Dark, S1 E1 certainly sets the scene for intrigue. I shall carry on watching it.

I'm still enjoying the satirical "Comrade Detective," on Prime. If you remember the "Cold War" and the tales of how the Communists portrayed the West - and America in particular - to their citizens, you might just find it as amusing as I do. Episode 3, which I watched tonight, had a wonderful portrayal of a Roman Catholic church service as seen through the lens of a communist propagandist, among other little gems.

"Line of Duty" is being re-shown from s1 e1 starting tonight, BBC1 21:00. As I didn't cotton on to it until series 4, that's rather good news for me.
