Beresford DACs both as the centre of a digital set up but also a headphone rig. Superlux headphones from in ear/closed/open/semi. The ICs Gary mentioned are the best I have tried so far. T amps- I love my Temple monos but my original bantum is a keeper. Battery power...for vfm sound upgrade getting off the grid has been the biggest jump for the least outlay I have done. Tisbury audio pre amp-spec it to your requirements/affordable/sounds fantastic. Lap top-all your digital music/radio/spotify at the touch of a button.
With a bit of know how you can put together a great hi fi without breaking the bank!

Royd speakers, cost hundreds second hand but it isn't absurd to put five figures of HiFi behind them.

Anything from the NVA range. Anything? Even the TIS at about £500? I have only ever heard the SSC in my system, and it was pretty good, but for me £500 is audiofool territory. Others may be willing to pay that, but it's beyond my self imposed limit.

Considering the material costs, there can't be much profit in it. The TIS is 25 times more expensive, but is it 25 times better?

Anything? Even the TIS at about £500? Assuming this is a full-blown audio PC ripper/streamer with storage, I'm not sure you could make and sell one for much less.
EDIT: or am I thinking of something else??

I think value is something we have our own judgements on Whilst I do not have any NVA gear I do consider it to offer good value due to selling direct

Well whilst I have never heard NVA TIS interconnects (Too rich for me as well im afraid) I do own 9 other NVA products, ALL of which I reckon fit into the OP's criteria - Sounding Superb & offering Amazing Value. Therefore I have no doubt TIS would be any different, all be it at a higher performance / price point.
