That sounds more like the server/service at fault, Stan. I use our own Exchange server for work mail and Outlook.com for personal mail. The W10 Mail app syncs both perfectly, including deletes and Sent Items. Have you checked in the Store that your Mail app is up to date?

That's interesting, Martin. I noticed that the email account setup options have Exchange Synch as a separate option. The server connection that I have to make is POP3. The mail app is a fresh install and up to date.

Aha! POP3 is a very poor system and often gets mail deleted from other locations wrong, including making duplicates. I would choose Exchange if it's an Exchange server and IMAP for all other mail systems. IMAP supports synchronised folders. POP3 is very old and should no longer be used.

I see from my W10 Outlook Email settings that I am on POP3, Is it beneficial on a normal PC to change to IMAP without any downsides ?

If your provider supports IMAP then you get complete folder synchronisation and any e-mail client anywhere will show the same set of messages. For that alone, it's worth it.

I had to smile. Bill Gates has admitted that he recently switched from using a Windows phone to an Android-powered phone. He does say that he's got lots of Micro$oft apps installed on it though. What next for Bill - an iPhone? Maybe that would be a bridge too far.

Not knowing phones.... Is Android good/better than Windows ? I believe that there are people here *cough* *cough* Martin *cough* who may have an opinion about that Mike.

Of course they are Mike ... In the future Windows phones will be about as common as Betamax recorders ...

Not knowing phones.... Is Android good/better than Windows ? There are pluses and minuses to both, Martin loves Windows phone and I do too, however I was forced to change as Windows phone has very poor support (for me) regarding apps, which are either not available or cut down versions with reduced features. The OS and functionality I think is better on Windows (personal opinion), the phones are good and affordable. But I needed access to many more apps, so prefer Android. Phones are phones theses days once you hit a certain price point, so it's hard to advise which is best as it's not one size fits all. So I think you first need to consider your needs, if you want access to the full range of apps you are probably going to be better served by Android. If you want a good phone that's simple to use and arent fussy about needing maximum functionality on the move, then you would likely be happy with Windows. I don't think it's quite as simple as which one is better? Martin may have a different opinion however

Windows Phones are becoming marginalised as Microsoft are regrouping, which is a nice way of saying that they have abandoned their current products except for support. There are different theories about what is coming next but it seems to be a Surface product that is a computer first and foremost, but can also make calls and be constantly data connected. They are targeting the business community. The OS is likely to be the new Windows for ARM with the commonised Store.
That means that for those of us who love our Windows Phones, app support is dropping off. I don't want for anything else but was shocked to hear from Steve that Tapatalk has gone. I still use it every day and dare not uninstall it. It's a sad state of affairs and I can no longer recommend one to buyers looking. Meanwhile, Android is fine and I use an LG phone at work for testing. It has its own problems, like too many forked versions and vendors loading their own crap on, but is basically a good solid OS.

I've sort of got "the set" now. Windows desktop, Chromebook, Android phone and tablets, and I've just received an iPad Mini 4 that I "earned." Now, if I could just bring myself run Unix/Linux again...

Ding - I run Linux on the Raspberry Pi. The only products I don't have are Apple.

On a good note, I upgraded my tablet at work from a Surface Pro 4 with i5 to a new Surface Pro with i7. Boy does this thing go, but the battery life is astonishing - the Kaby Lake i7 being more efficient than the Skylake i5. With the dock and 24" monitor, this is the best workstation I've yet used.

I'm running a 3.40Ghz i7-4770K on the desktop with 32GB of ram and I think that will have to suffice for the foreseeable future. Up until this box I'd always been an AMD customer but I got a good price on the Intel machine so switched. I have pretty well stuck with Asus/Nvidia axis for graphics though.

I'm running a 3.40Ghz i7-4770K on the desktop with 32GB of ram Nice, my Gigabyte BRIX has an i7-6600U and 16GB RAM, more than enough for all the work I do at home. The 27" monitor running at 2560 x 1440 is the cream on the cake.

I've got twin 24" monitors running at their native 1920x1080 (1080p.) I've also got a spare 32" LED telly knocking about; it might be fun to see how that looks some time as I have HDMI out from my graphics card.

I am not much of a user of apps outside the ones already installed on my two Windows phones. I use W8.1 on one so that I can continue to use Here maps. It is not available on W10. And neither are most of the Nokia Lumia specific camera apps. But the W10 has just about everything else that I need.
I am not into desktops or tower systems any more. It has been laptops only for me for the last twenty odd years. My business one with its 15.6" 4K screen is powerful on paper. But the real powerhouse is my 13.1" i7 3.4GHz laptop running in RAID0 mode. They don't make them like that any more. Now its all about long battery life and slim fanless designs in that screen size.
