How many times did I kick off an "it was fine last night" telephone conversation with "Was the office cleaned overnight?" If the answer was "Yes" then the next line was invariably "Where do you think they plugged their vacuum cleaner in?" Bloody end users! Of course if the end user was easy on the eye it wasn't beyond me to appear on site and faff around for 20 minutes and then turn the power back on while they weren't looking, thereby cementing my reputation as a genius.

Made me laugh - lost count of the number of times I'd get a call because 'the overhead projector isn't working'.
me: "Is it plugged in" them "I'll call back"
No call back of course...

...the alternative: "the screen says no signal". "Have you turned the PC on?". Silence.

So my advanced tech support of "Have you turned if off and on" is well above them. I'm such a guru

Or the "We need to get another password generator because users are having troubles copying and pasting it from the notification email".

Regarding free updates of W7 & W8 to W10.
"On 29 July, a free upgrade offer for Windows users with earlier versions of the operating system will come to an end."

Andif that wasn't enough, if you're using Outlook.com you won't be able to use Windows Live Mail 2012 after June 30 becuase of synch issues, which means you'll need to upgrade to Win10. There's some info here if you haven't had the email yet, or are ignoring it.

To be fair, the Windows 10 Mail client is much nicer than the old Live Mail, so it's a relatively pain-free transition.

I had this message tonight.
Changes to OneDrive
We want to let you know about some upcoming changes to OneDrive. On 10/08/2016, the amount of storage that comes with OneDrive will change from 15 GB to 5 GB. We are also discontinuing the 15 GB camera roll bonus. You can learn more by taking a look at our FAQs.
There is no action you need to take, because your OneDrive account is currently below the new storage limits.

Yeah, there's a lot of backlash on the ms feedback sites. I don't read their forum so the first I knew about this was an email like yours. I'm over the magically low 5GB. I wonder what they'd bin of mine if I do nothing! Kinda sucks to read you could have opted to get 15GB reinstated but as there was no mail shot, didn't know about it until months later. I'm probably off to Google drive and android next time around - if they go through with this. It's the way they handled it that the problem.

Why do you still think we make things for your benefit? If you don't like it f*ck off to Apple or Linux...but you either won't or can't."

Might it be pertinent to remind people that Windows 10 has been FREE for the last year? The fact that Microsoft will now start charging for it should hardly cause a backlash?
I received Microsoft's OneDrive e-mail in good time and claimed my additional storage. Again, this is FREE!

Ordinary users like me have NOT had any direct email until the 'stealth' offer was long out of date. That's what sucks! I use 6.08GB at the moment. That might have grown too 8GB over several years! I will just use google drive for some more backup type stuff.
Or migrate all to Google drive. BTW. Check out the Metro drive app for W10 & Windoze phone. It's quite natty to enable all device Google drive use...

Well I've still got plenty of my 1TB OneDrive space free and quite happy with my free version of Windows 10. Mind you if you are upset, just go buy an iMac, but that will cost you more

I pay £1.99 a month for additional OneDrive space. Local storage, for me, is dead.

Trying to get the PC I converted from W7 to W10 back
Still have INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE No way of stopping the constant rebooting or doing anything apart from turning it off
Clues on the web suggest things like removing the HD and putting in a DVD to install W10 I'm not up to that and might wreck it anyway Clues please

It's hard to describe troubleshooting when a) the machine is not in front of me and b) you don't have the language to describe to me what's happening. No offence, like!
Effectively, you need to boot the media DVD for W10 and run the repair process.

I turn it on
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
comes up and it reboots, constantly
Can only turn it off to stop it
Where do I get a W10 DVD from ? (he asks in a leading way....) Bear in mind I'm barely competent with PCs, I just use em

Err, the media you burned when it was offered to you while installing W10?
