My pharmacy rang me yesterday, to tell me that my prescription would be delivered as per usual, today (which it was) and could I please give the lady delivering it a fiver, or "did I want to sort out the charge over the phone?"
As this was totally out of the blue I opted to hand over a fiver at the door. So, from free deliveries to sixty-five quid per year. No warning. Nowt. That's more than a week's grocery shopping for me.
So, I've got a couple of weeks or so to look into the free services available. I know Pharmacy2U, Lloyds, and Boots, by name, but have no experience of any of them, or any other service.
Does anyone have any recommendations (or horror stories)?

Probably not their fault if the drug is on shortage.
I had a right old time after COVID/Brexit getting my regular drugs as some of them come from the EU. Was having to split the order. All ok now.

The daft thing is, it's not the drug that I thought might cause them problems, it's something that I've been taking for a long time and that I've never had a problem with before.

I'm still waiting for my prescription to be dispatched, let alone delivered. Every time I check they move the dispatch date one or two days forward. My local chemists have just phoned to see if I've change pharmacies, as they knew I had a delivery booked for this Saturday. I'm beginning to think that their "fiver-per-delivery" looks good value.

I don't understand it - I've had excellent service from Pharmacy2U except for a couple of meds temporarily unavailable.

My guess is that one drug Pharmacy2u have been great for me and the boss who has every drug ever made

It is, indeed, one drug, and as I believe I said, it's not even anything " exotic" it's something I've been on for ages and have never, previously had a single problem with. Worse still, they have now had my prescription for 2 weeks, and the option to split the prescription has now vanished. Much as you are anathema to anything electronic, Mike, internet subscription/sign-up services etc. seem to be my technological Achilles heel.

I was wary when I started with Pharmacy2u thinking of Murphy's Law but it has been fine. Just a couple of minor issues over many years

Estimated dispatch now 02nd Sept. I've messaged them, and apparently they will get back to me within 24 hours. They've had my prescription for over 2 weeks, the last time they contaced me was 20.08.2024, and despite everyone here having perfect experiences with them, they appear to be a fkn joke as far as I'm concerned. All they're doing is adding another couple of days to the estimated dispatch time and giving me zero feedback.

No contact from Pharmacy2U, by the way, but the estimated dispatch now 03rd Sept. Yup, they've simply added yet another day to it. Tomorrow - if they work tomorrow that it - it will read 04th Sept. and on Monday, it will be 05th September.

I finally got an answer, from "Ibrahim" after four days. " To resolve this issue, I can send you the prescription codes via email. This will allow you to collect your medication from a local pharmacy today. Please let me know if that would be helpful." I've informed him that this would NOT be useful, because if I could get to my local pharmacy easily I would not have needed Pharmacy2U's services in the first place. I've asked if he could split the order, send me the bulk of it, and forward the missing item as and when they source it. No reply as yet, but it's only been a couple of hours. I was correct, by the way, the "Estimated Dispatch" is now 04 September 2024, and if nothing is resolved it'll be 05 September 2024 tomorrow.

Well, thanks for fkn nothing, Saqab Ali. Oh, yeah, and the " Estimated Dispatch" is now 05 September 2024. tomorrow it will be 05 September 2024 and STILL have no bearing on the ACTUAL expected dispatch date, because they don't actually fkn have one
