Hello. I am a 67-year-old retired man, audiophile and music lover for many, many years. I am above all a lover of the human voice, in classical music, baroque and vocal jazz. The discovery very recently of a single-stage high-fidelity amplifier using the 300B tube was truly the culmination of this very long passion. I'm delighted to join this exchange group, and I send you my warmest greetings from Toulouse, which the French like to call la ville rose. All the best musically. Jean-Louis. <img src=" " alt="" style="max-width:100%;">

Bonjour Jean-Louis
Welcome to TAS! I also love the human voice, especially female, although our chosen solutions are very different.
I love France but I have not visited Toulouse. Probably Bordeaux and Bayonne are the closest I've been to.

Hi Jean-Louis, welcome from me.
I'm also a great lover of classical music and of the Baroque in general.
I visited Toulouse a couple of years ago with my family and had a lovely time there.

Thank you so much for stopping by this simple introductory message.
I'd like to share with you these two excerpts from a concert given to celebrate the 40th anniversary of " Les Arts Florissants", conducted by the extraordinary conductor William Christie :
Yours musically.

If you look at the first comment under the video, here's what one Internet user wrote:
In the dark, very dark days ahead, I know I'll be able to look back and remember that this is what exists: this incredible communion in the Arts Florissants family, this music so delicate, this atmosphere, this shared love of the sensitive at the highest level. It's soul-saving indeed, that this beauty exists, so rare, but yes it does! And it's almost enough to make you forget everything else.
Thanks again to all of you for dropping by on this simple introductory message !

Hi Jean-Louis and here's a very warm welcome to The Audio Standard from me. You sound like just the kind of member who might like to join in with our Classical Album Choice board. julesd68 runs that side of things here and I'm sure he'd like to encourage your participation and explain how it works.

I've seen this one before, a particularly good flashmob.
How better to do one than with Beethoven's 9th - wonderful!

Jean-Louis, have you seen the film "Tous Les Matins du Monde" about Marin Marais and Monsieur de Sainte Colombe?
I have just managed to order a DVD of it and really looking forward to it, should be most interesting ...

Welcome indeed. I shall plug those tracks you listed into Qobuz and have a listen. A piece I like and you might know / like is For the sheer timbre and tonal textures.
