Well, so this is the best thing I've found in my 6 or 7 years of streaming music and using recommendations in Spotify to discover music.
Italian band of goofballs making 70's and 80's crime funk that sounds like the soundtrack to action movies and shows from that time period, along with moments of mesmerizing drumming and a lot of branching out into other original sounds they've made that are always very pleasant and engaging for me.
I did make an Album Choice for this band's album S.P.A.C.E and have heard (and purchased) many of their other albums in the last few years but each album ended up sounding like it came up short in comparison to S.P.A.C.E.
The other albums sounded like the same cool music style was being used but without that extra gimmick of using it to describe sci-fi scenes like they did on tracks 74 Days After Landing, Universe Of 10 Dimensions, Bandits On Mars, Across the 111th Sun, etc.
But this album here called Calibro 35 Deluxe is something else. I look forward every day to tracks Tutta Donna (this is a joy! I'm transported back to 1982 - it's the only vocal song ive heard from them) and Indagine Su Un Cittadino, Summertime Killer, Bouchet Funk.
This band, this album here, and now it's all coming together with a few of their other albums, really bring me a new kind of joy. It sounds to me like TV show/comedy/half of a The Doors cover-band Jazz.

Yes, the opening track is good and could easily be the soundtrack for a film.
I shall listen to more later.

Thanks Martin. I love Calibro 35. I'm sitting here at the hospital covered in bandages after surgery (simple sinus surgery went well) and looking forward to get home to relax and hear more.
In all seriousness, it's finds like this for me that really are the reason I listen to music. This one satisfies for me the fun quotient (fun-ness?) And also I find it intriguing/interesting what they are doing.

Thanks Paul. Yes they said this one went very smooth and I actually don't have any pain right now. Wow you had sinus surgery too Paul. Can you say how long you were with it before surgery? Mine began in December and was absolutely horrible regarding pain. Then after 2 rounds of antibiotics it mostly went away except for what needed to be removed.
The facilities and procedure and personnel were great here in Boston btw hopefully it all went smooth on your side.

I suffered from sinusitis for probably 30+ years, and eventually it got bad enough that I needed surgery.

Thanks guys. I have until Thursday off from work to heal. I'm bleeding heavily now but its a dark blood and apparently thats good, they don't want to see any new bright red/pink blood though.
Any tips for best chance to heal correctly?
Yes Mike, absolutely, and thank you. I'm drinking a ton of water and always do.
Any time for a semi-funny story?
Before anesthesia was administered I met a nurse. She looked maybe 50-ish, had a European accent I think. I was smitten. I felt like I was talking to my angel. I couldn't believe it. Her job is to stand over the patient and connect and listen to really get a read on your condition and mental state so she's right there looking at you like you're the only two people on earth. She was so beautiful. She was so wonderful. I'll never forget it. She said that I would see her again later but I never did. I could die happy already just for having met her. She has a gift for interacting/connecting with others. And that accent...
But I met another nurse, misread the signals and asked her out quite quickly, and was quite quickly rejected. My fault. I didn't read the room correctly.
A few weeks before that I asked out a nurse at my PCP's office and was shot down perfectly. My fault. Again, failed to read the room. Unless, is it not ok to ask out a nurse at her workplace? I would never do it in front of others.
Asked out a woman at a grocery store that works there, was not technically rejected but did not get a phone number, though second time we saw each other she seemed happy to see me and greeted me with an old-timey Irish curtsy, we spoke for a minute but we were in a crowd of her coworkers so did not have chance to ask her out. I haven't seen her since but I will ask her if the opportunity presents itself.
I still got it, guys, I still got it, just lot of swing and misses lately. Batting sub .200 probably. Maybe it's not ok to ask somebody out even discreetly at their workplace?
Having said that, is there a funner set of 7 consecutive tracks than Tutta Donna, Italia A Mano Armata, Summer Time Killer, Notte In Bovisa, Indagine Su Un Cittadino, Bouchet Funk, Trafelato?
Cool track from their 2022 album:

Best chance to heal properly? So glad you asked, as my general advice for this predicament is to avoid sex for at least six months.
As for your batting average, keep swinging, I'm guessing attractive nurses get lots of dudes hitting on them at work so they might just not consider any advances, unless an immensely suave and sophisticated English gentleman like me turns up in my tuxedo, in which case they can't resist of course. I think the grocery girl sounds much more promising.

Ahh thanks Jules. It seems like avoiding sex shouldn't be a problem for me. I've become quite proficient at maneuvering around it apparently.
Yes the grocery girl seems really cool and she's a catch. Maybe you're right about the nurses being hit on often.
As much as I'd like to see them again I hope this heals correctly without scar tissue or anything so that I can put this long chapter behind me.
Btw women around here really can't resist a British or Australian accent.

Well, there you go then. Practice your British accent.
What happened to the long-distance relationship, Robert?

Haha that would be hilarious if I could put together a legit British accident to use it as a party trick.
Well the long distance woman has actually just last week moved back from Connecticut to about an hour south here in the same state where I am and we've planned to go out.
Financially in the last 3 months I wasnt ready to be taking anyone out but now that and the sinus infection have been solved right around the same time so I've been asking people out and will see her in the coming weeks.
Would be nice to find somebody who lives closer though.

An Aussie accent is what you lot get when you try an English accent !

Haha yes I've noticed it when trying it myself Mike though I have an Australian buddy and I've seen the putty that American women turn into when he speaks lol. So would not kill me to perfect that accent either I suppose.
I've stood there listening to people with British accents before and even I felt a bit warm by the charm of it. I didn't hear a lot of stammering or hemming and hawing which seems to make up the bulk of American- English here.
CD quality for the opening of this track is stellar.

Lots of umming and arring in the UK
There are many different accents in the UK, some you wouldn't understand, some even me Amused the hell out of me when I heard there were subtitles for Lock Stock and two smoking barrels in the US

Oh ye those moves were a big deal to my friends and I here in the states. Wow great stuff. Snatch, too.
Now to learn a Pikey accent now that might really perk the ladies ears up.

I didn't necessarily wake up today thinking "oh wow nice its party time" but then I saw this and understood.
Also, there's a Polish girl just a few years younger than me that I saw on a dating app and have been trying to get the attention of and failed each time. This morning I saw her on fb and sent a friend request and was accepted and I started a conversation.
Turns out her parents know my parents and I very quickly confessed that I'd been trying to get her attention and hoped to get her phone number. She hasn't given it but laughed a lot and seems ok to speak to me again. I am shocked by this woman. If I get her phone number I'll do everything I have to to become a better person. She's breath-taking and seems lovely and friendly. And I've been transparent with her but I won't even get my hopes up.

Understood, Jules. Let me find out how crazy reality really is and whether I actually have a shot with her, she already knows that I like her. After that I'll start tinkering with this cashapp.
