There are problems with your reference. First, it is Wikipedia, a sort of Reader's Digest 'authority'. Second, It commences with the words 'This article has multiple issues'. Apart from that I would fire an employee who did not promote my product (actually service in my case). Conceptually: Every cow is an animal, but not every animal is a cow. |

Well the problem is people play with absolutes. Cables make world shattering differences - obvious crap. Cables make no difference it is just wire - obvious crap. reality comes in between and is based on two things 1/ how good it is 2/ how well it works in *your* system = synergy.

Thats just the problem there is no such thing as an "absolute", there are simply too many variable and inter-variable relationships to produce an "absolute". A cable's characteristics, abilities, sonice characteristics et al are indvidually interpreted. There are >7.1 billion people on this Earth, how the hell are you going to get a consensus of opinion. I wish people would just use a little intellect and realise that science at this moment in time cannot accurately interpret or measure how a cable will sound in a persons system. I admit certain characteristics can be measured and I presume it's from these that people assume how a cable sounds or acts. |

Well there are two categories of absolutes on forums, those from the plants and shills, and this thread has shown examples of this. The other is the forum egotists who try to convince how clever they are to make their choices and that everyone should follow them. In the past they became reviewers but now some of them find satisfaction in owning forums or just trying to create a fan base or a forum in-crowd. IMO both of them only deserve the piss being taken out of them.

I started this thread with the same intentions as I start any thread reviewing an item of equipment: to help readers to shortlist components for further listening. I never advocate anyone going on my opinion or that of anyone else - all we can give is an indication of performance and a recommendation or not for further interest.
Members need to take their own action and listen to the products for themselves if they are sufficiently interested. If they are not, then move along, nothing to see here!
