She might even have a "theory" about the Scottish vote.

Soz, I don’t get the relevance of any of that. Just seems like pointless banality...

It's unfortunate Marco, but it calls for a sense of humour.

Lol - not my type of humour, at least that particular sketch isn't, as normally I quite like Monty Python. One of my favourite comedies of all time is The League of Gentlemen, which is along rather similar lines.

Guys, very funny but unless it's going to contribute something to the accumulated knowledge of SLIC cables, could we please put a cork in it?

Thicker in the middle and then thin again at the far end. That is the theory that I have and which is mine and what it is, too.
And it has special phono plugs...

I see DB as keen, certainly not aggressive. He sells good stuff, makes people happy, enjoys it himself and makes money from the business. Really cannot see an agenda
It is hard, when you are 'keen' to put your story over without most people giving you stick.
Sadly cynicism about sales is endemic. There needs to be a balance

Really cannot see an agenda It is hard, when you are 'keen' to put your story over without most people giving you stick. Sadly cynicism about sales is endemic. There needs to be a balance Cyncism in this case seems inevitable. Product gets less than rave review; lo and behold, it was faulty! How can any prospective purchaser be sure that he/she isn't also buying a faulty cable? This is what makes me cynical about many hifi reviews in the magazines; nothing is allowed to be less than brilliant - it either 'needs more burn-in' or 'needs to be used with different ancillaries' or 'it was a faulty sample'. The very worst example was a review of an expensive integrated amp in HiFi+ a year or two back. The first review was lukewarm; then in the next issue it was reviewed by a second reviewer who praised it to the skies. Maybe it's 'cynical' to add that the manufacturer was at the time a major advertiser in the magazine.

How can any prospective purchaser be sure that he/she isn't also buying a faulty cable? Simple: try it. How on earth could you assess anything for yourself without first trying it? Buying on the basis of a review is foolhardy, I keep repeating myself that reviews should help to form a shortlist only.

David has always been 100% straight with me
I was able to send it/them back if sound wasn't better They did improve sound so I am a happy customer of MCRU and assume I will remain so.
I prefer reviews from people I know and trust. That nudges me in the right direction

Just wondering if anyone who bought this cable back then in 2014 still uses it in their system?

All I can say is that the prototypes sounded good. I then ordered a pair and they were disappointingly harsh. I returned them and got a refund.
