I was impressed with the difference the tape made to the grounding box. Like Damien I was impressed by the difference it made. I will try the paint and see what it does in my system.

If that is the case then adding external screening might have an impact. Yes, it might but what I'm saying is that it's at least partially shielded already, which could explain why it's the most effective grounding box of all that I've tried. Or maybe not, I don't know. I don't want to break them open to treat the insides and I don't want to make them look awful so for the time being this idea is grounded(!) Simply paint a cardboard box and place inside, then you can satisfy your curiosity.Or send me a suitable box,and I'll do it for you,the offers there if you want Martin |

Even the tape on the plastic parts of a plug is a upgrade,l've tried it on all my power inputs,and it's work on every cable,hearing is really believing |

A quick update
I have painted my long Aucharm on the mains and medium on the router with RFI paint. Its a upgrade on the RFI shielding tape that I am still using on connectors.I have not touched the RTZ as taken note on Tony words of caution.
This drops the noise floor even further on my system. Sounds just pop up from nowhere and detail is sublime. But i guess its the ease and naturalness that comes to the fore.
Mike needs to try to see if it helps the QA I know Martin will not as black.

Great result John. lt really is a jaw dropping moment.
The amount of applications internally that is could be used is vast.
l wish MartinT would try,as he's the King of the ground boxes, of course you can paint a different colour after you applied the G Sheid,so it hasn't got to remain black. Another non destructive way is to just paint a cardboard box, and place the component inside, it will give an idea if it's for you

I will probably give the cardboard box a go sometime. However, the QA boxes appear to have their own copper shielding internally, so I'm unsure whether the EMI/RFI shielding will make a difference. |

I'm taking Henry Copper at his word Splash it on all over  Multiple grounding boxes. Will try it on one of the Tivos, the Freeview box. Wonder how many coats are optimum... |
