Sadly unlike the technically gifted here I do not have the skills to alter the voyage on the power supply . I am using a 12v GeekPulse LPSU made for their DAC .Reading the advice 8.25 v is the sweet spot but not able to alter the fact be I have so unless I come across a cheap alternative it will have to do for now . Not using any cable I have a bnc connector going direct in to a 50 Ohm through transformer . You don't need a vast electrical experience, and a psu can be purchased around $50. Although l understand its not for everyone. But in reality, a screwdriver and a cheap multi meter is all that's needed to adjust the voltage.

Afternoon Chaps, he is a very simple demonstration of why impedance mis matching isn't good for your digital sound quality! This morning I was setting up a LB clock for a client and installed the new firmware and set up the parameters, I took a few images of a genuine 50 Ohm cable, a 75 Ohm cable and finially a 75 Ohm cable with an impedence equaliser. Pretty self explanitory I feel

Well presumably the two bottom photos are the 50ohm then Tony?
It's a good visual example, and although it's a obviously mismatch, it's a reminder of how fussy the LB is with it's Coax cable.
Thanks Tony.. lt's a great collection of shots.

Impedance doesn't matter if you have a sinewave clock.

It runs hot and the sound quality isn’t great. Also when I took it apart there was no adjustable pot to lower voltage. Just forget about it and get the 7.5V Meanwell sga12u07 for $20. It’s vastly superior.

Just a question regarding the LB clock . Today while playing the inputs on my Mutec started to drop and cut out . Checked my player and this seems fine and was still playing on the cut outs .Then realised with one thing another I had not reset the LB for quite some time well over a month. So connected it all up to my PC and set using the new set up software with the Auto Sleep facility . Put everything back and now working without any issues . Is this what happens when the LB drifts ? If so will set up a reminder every four weeks to do a reset .

Good question... Although l can't say l've experience what you have, for myself it's just lost some of its focus. You probably better asking LB directly.

Schedule an update for the LB every four weeks and just completed one today . Sounds great so will just Have to make this part of my routine .

First time poster, long time reader of this thread - I wanted to express my gratitude to those who discovered & publicised this upgrade.
I'm always a bit sceptical about things like this, especially as 'good' audio is such a personal preference, so I wasn't expecting that much when I hooked up the LB to my R26 with a cheapo LMR-400 cable from Ali.
Flipping 'eck, I was completely blown away by the improvement in the sound of my R26. Soundstage, dynamics, clarity, bass all took a huge step forward - I could understand lyrics, hear basslines & pickup small nuances in performance that I'd bever heard before.
Only drawback has been wanting to turn the volume up as the music sounds so good!
I completely agree - these are not subtle changes & it has taken my setup up at least a couple of levels.
So, thank you again guys & if you're at all unsure about trying this, my advice is - do it! You will not be disappointed.

Welcome Rogs... Glad you're enjoying the LB. lt's a total bargain, that does have so operational quirks.
You can still squeeze more out of the LB, and it's well worth the effort.
Anyway it's great to hear more love for the LB.
Welcome to TAS

Really do agree that the LB is a huge bargain . Make sure you down load the latest control software as linked in this thread and tick the Auto Sleep option . This turns the CPU off after thirty seconds which reduces noise and is free . Adding a decent LPSU takes the performance a notch up and if you can get it adjusted to 8.25 v output I am told this is even better . Also have a view of Tonys settings advice small gains but gains all the same .

Is there agreement about which voltage is best? I'm making a voltage regulator for my 12v LPS using a couple of ldovr LT3045 LDO modules.
(BTW Just fitted a TFLEX-405 BNC cable, resulting in a worthwhile improvement in clarity & dynamics - another great recommendation!)
Thanks

I would follow Tony's guidance on voltage settings

Based on Tony's advice, a number of us,including myself run this voltage with great success There's also a very simple internal mod that brings further improvements, feel free to PM myself if l can help.

There are MANY internal ugrades that improve this clock as well. if at the weekend I'm feeling inclinded I give you as glimpse of what I do to them, if you feel the other tweaks are good. nothing on these. With a decent lps, the mods and the settings it dispatches many of the much lauded far east devices in as a good customers mentions'Every Metric'.
I spent over two days dialing in the right voltage sweet spot, a lot of effort went into that, along with the right steady state current draw, its picky with that to, although with the internal updates less so on the current.
Not a fan of the LT3045's especially when you parrallel them up to cope with larger current draw's, in certin situtaions they are fine, but to obtain the true performance, thats a different matter, all TI's and AD's spec's are quoted from the evolution boards in an ideal environment, like clocks. Real world applications are quite different!

I'd love you to share the mods Tony!
l'm wondering how much longer before the new unit becomes available... Any inside rumours?

Hello Damien
Being honest I haven't spoken to Leo or Simon since Feb, their work load like mine with other new & ongoing projects is quite intense, not sure if I mentioned this it will be around the four figures in cost when released.
