Catalogue: Spotify the best, Qobuz improving every month Sound quality: Qobuz superb, Spotify decent, Tidal bright sheeny horrible New music: Spotify good, Qobuz big improvements recently Search: Spotify good, Qobuz not quite as good but better when you know its quirks
It's Qobuz for me as the sound quality is so good.

The thought of recreating my library and extensive playlists on another service is too much for me - I'll stick with Spoti and try hirez if it ever comes.
Spoti sounds great on my system but it's all I have ever used so no other points of reference.

The thought of recreating my library and extensive playlists on another service is too much for me I put the Spotify and Qobuz apps side by side on a big screen and transferred them all to new playlists in Qobuz in a couple of hours. Wasn't too difficult. Now I only maintain the Qobuz ones.

By starting to type each artist or album name into Qobuz playlists as I read them from the Spotify playlist.

Ah, would take forever for me as my playlists are quite complex. Eg multiple recordings of Shosta 10 for comparison some of which have other works edited out of the playlist. Of course it could be done but I don't have the urge right now.

I only need the first track of any album or piece, keeps my playlists much shorter. The Rendu with BubbleUPnP goes on to play the whole album if I choose it to.

Thanks to John and MartinT I still have to choose between Spot and Qobuz ! Questions for the future. Crystal balls out Will Q catch up to Spot ? Will Spot improve quality to Q level ? Ad on YouTube yesterday advertising Q as the streamer for sound quality BubbleUPnP a task for another time

I really don't know, Mike.
Q is ahead of Spot for sheer quality, Spot will never catch up as their idea of 'hi-res' is one day going with Red Book 16/44 only.
Will Q catch up in catalogue? They have been closing the gap quite considerably but it's hard to say for certain.
The more I listen to Q the more impressed I am. They just do not tamper with the stream, it sounds incredibly natural, vibrant and detailed.

Not a decision that is carved in stone. Just prefer to pick the best one first time If I try one and don't get on I can try the other

There is no best - *some* people say Tidal is the only serious choice.

I do not think Spotify see audiophiles as it market. No idea when 16/44 will come in. It seems at least Qobuz are listening to the criticism

If Mike is a "Collector of Sounds" he needs to be on Spotify ...

*some* people say Tidal is the only serious choice. I would say they have been taken in by MQA. Listening to it is not pleasant.

320kbps sounds fab on Spotify so more to this game than the numbers I think.

How does Amazon`s hd/ultra hd sound compare to Spotify,Tidel and Qobuz. No idea, they don't support APIs so that streamers can support them. Can't use their service, so don't care.

they both offer FLAC but as we know, it’s all about selection and bitrate
