I used a 20mm tungsten cube but otherwise it's the same idea. I tried both Martin... 15mm seems to work better than 20mm with the R26. Can't give you a technical reason...

Hi Damien, thanks for the reply. I already have a tungsten cube in place so I'll follow your instructions soon when it comes to shielding. I took the plunge earlier and ordered some 2.5ml copper mesh. Hopefully it'll be fine.
I'll report back once everything is in place.
Thanks again
Morph.

Another busy day of household tasks, finally finished. After last week improvements, l wanted to retrace my steps, l did that thing you shouldn't do,make 3 changes all at the same time, the gamble paid off, but l was left wondering, which mod did what?
I've been messaging Matt quite regularly, and we been talking about the sheild on or off on my ground box, after Matt reported it sounded more open.
So l put the sheilding back on, and TBH l couldn't really detect any difference. My ground box is just a mains earth into a multi block adapter.
Next l starred putting my 8.1 back in on my FMC line, hmm slightly less open sounding less holographic, not a massive difference.
Aha... The improvements firmly comfirm that the copper tape and mesh must be working it's magic. And at times it can be a bit ruthless, take Steve Perry "O Sherrie" introduction.. It opens with 80s synthesisers, you can really hear the limitations of them, as the technology isn't quite there yet.
This week l've been looking into how to reduce magnetic waves, after Jake from Headfi inspired me to dig deeper. He's been using MuMetal. And without going all technical, l've discovered that it's all about incasing the magnetic waves by using nickel and iron.
l've got a plan up my sleeve, and l'm just waiting on spares to arrive.
The interesting thing, even though l've moved the transformers away from the R26, they must be still sending out RFI.
Intersting times ahead certainly, fingers crossed on the transformer covers, l have a positive feeling about this.

Looking forward to seeing where the new plan goes as you’re definitely onto something here. Those few bits of shielding I did the other day made a noticeable improvement. I’ll definitely be implementing more of your ideas in my dsp and then I’ll tackle the Dac too.

Just an update pic of my mesh cages. With the heat of the x26pro on certain areas of the PCB I was having trouble with the insulation tape that isolated the bottom of the copper mesh cage from PCB Trying another tape option atm which is holding slightly better. The old cardboard boxes with copper tape that I used before and which caused the build up of extra heat inside those boxes, which was my concern is now gone using mesh. Sound wise?.. my previous post when I put the copper wrapped cardboard boxes in still stands now with the copper mesh on board.

The mesh looks good, a lot neater and will keep your DAC running cool.

You guys are killing me 🤣. Its a team effort, sure atoz X26 is the perfect tester, a blessing and a curse due to the heat. Matts now on board as well.. Think he's got a great solution on the peeling tape.
It's worth mentioning that these methods can be used in other components. Once you hear the improvements, you realise that most hi fi components can benefit.
My next mod will be trying to incase magnetic waves of a toroidal Transformer, just waiting on supplies to land
