Good news....l now have power, l can't express how pleased l am about this...4 months without my Hi Fi is a long time.
l feel like a Dog that gets excited when his master returns home.

Now time to rediscover my set up,before l comment on those sheilding mods on the R26 and my Nord Amps..o and Graphene...

Firstly thanks for putting up with me,it's been a hard 4 months without my set up. And finally l am back.

So during my down time,and if go back on my Blog. l did the following Mods without listening...in true kamikaze style.

Sheilded cable and partitioned Nord Amps
Sheilded R26 internal cables
Went totally..Splash it all over Brut 45 style with my DIY Graphene mix on power cables and to main power board.

That's bordem for you 🤣

Okay what does it sound like?

Okay..what is definitely noticeable is the low end clean more defined, and more full bodied, more relaxed, less harsh l guess but no loss of high frequencies. Although I can't say if it's the amps, R26 or Graphene the overall effect is a improvement.
Next ... swap the AD cable to my Multiflex 141...

I should give myself a pat on the back. So swap out the AD to 141, wow big difference.. l had only tested 141 in very quick way and as you know, l wasn't happy with the connectors, so l made this 141 at the same as John's, but never tested it, it's sounds better and has cleaner midrange.. insight, precision..Great result...

Next.... swap out my cheap XLR cables VAN DAMM ULTRA PURE SILVER PLATED cable that came with my Nord Amps and connect up my new Neotech NEEMOI 5220 cables

Okay.... So new XLR cables in, 1st noticeable thing they are more dynamic and faster, and incredibly...louder! ln the past l moaned about the R26 being quieter on output, obviously the VAN DAMME cable..Ultra Silver Plated OFC, possibly had an impedance mismatch.
The Neotech will need burning in, slightly harsh, although 20 minutes in, it's started to tame a bit.
Okay....Thats it... for now.

Get Daphile working. And direct contect the Multiflex 141 to R26 board...and most importantly....enjoy the music 🎶

The legend returns

Well l'm on a roll today, l feel like Johnny Five "More lnput,More lnput"

So fired up Daphile on my other NUC, and waited with bated breath. Straight off the bat, all devices seen.
Just a case of open my browser, enter the 192.etc number, and up comes the Daphile interface, meaning you can operate playback on any device,Windows Mobile Phone .

Now l won't bore you with settings, but naturally you need to do a few small setting adjustments, like make sure Daphile can see your storage device,so it can add your library.

So press play.... "Hudson we have Ignition",you can guess my surprise..lt works, sound quality excellent,certainly better than PC based Jriver,and in the same league as Volumio 3,l would say a more neutral tone than Volumio 3, but l need to live with it for a few weeks.

Operationally it's instance access to my 8TB SSD drive, l'm using it via USB at present,that will change if l stick with it.
And that's my moan,it could take over 10 seconds using Volumio 3 to open a file and press play using a internal or USB drive. Yet if you accessed any of the last 100 tracks played, it would play instantly, it would drive me crazy.

Now and at last,Daphile just works,look for a file while playing, hit play away you go...just as it should be.

The GI is a bit basic,but functional,l got a cheek moaning, it's free anyway!

There are a few more bells and whistles to Daphile, but l would highly recommend it,if you prefer playback of internal or external drives, rather than off NAS or server. Naturally your PC/NUC needs to be connected to a network to push and pull as a remote control.

l think l will have some interesting days of listening..Rather than buffering.

🤣 l wish mate, just on a general high on life.
Around 9ish l may part take in some merriment of a Guinness or three.

So still enjoying Daphile, now had some more time live with it.
Positives the program just works.And sounds very good...but... Ultimately l would say Volumio 3 sounds better...Damm.
Also l have has the odd album not showing in Daphile player,which is a bit strange.

So next stage... The re start of getting Jriver Linux in view of a Server,Tim is going to love me 🤣 And then to replicate his Jriver Volumio 3 setup.

In the meantime I will continue with Daphile...Rating close but no cigar!
