Had to buy another car. The city runabout is costing too much.
Was looking for a small hybrid. Not ready for electric; distance anxiety is an issue, and lack of recharging stations.
Have settled on Nissan Note ePower.
Not a conventional hybrid. The drive is purely electric. The petrol motor engages to charge the battery.
Is possible to get 3L/100km, but we’ll see.
I was limited in the colour I could get. No white or grey(80% of them). Only done 19,000km, so a few years left in it.

I help design some aspects of EV, and I'never own one for sure

Well that's your choice Tony, but it does not mean that EVs are not any good or will replace ICE vehicles eventually.
Human beings are generally resistive to change and something new, but some of us are not.

This is very much a developing technology So much more to happen and it will be fast

This is very much a developing technology So much more to happen and it will be fast Oh so true, but then vinyl is better and is less glitchy.

Tesla's cheating is on a par with VW's emissions faking. Class action material.

Tesla created secret team to suppress thousands of driving range complaints This story is actually old news and has been around some time. The issue is actually the same for any BEV vehicle, if you drive it in temperatures below -10C or below then the battery efficiency will be impacted just the same as a mobile phone one a mountain in winter. see www.carmagazine.co.uk/electric/electric-cars-winter-battery-range/and from it the quoted "NAF winter range test results 2023 This is a topic the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) is particularly interested in – Norway is a huge consumer of electric cars and also a very cold country, so every year an electric vehicle winter range test is held to see how manufacturer claims stack up to real-world conditions. In 2023, the event set a new winter driving range record with a standard Tesla Model S, which managed 329 miles in conditions between 0 degrees C and -19 degrees C before conking out. This beat the previous record of 324 miles, set in slightly warmer conditions by a Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor in 2022. However, even that Tesla Model S performance represented 16.4 per cent reduction versus the official WLTP claim of 394 miles. As such the actual winner of the 2023 event – yes, it is competitive – was the relatively obscure Maxus Euniq6. While this Chinese MPV (smaller sibling to the Maxus MIFA 9 that’s set to be sold in the UK) may have managed only 197 miles in total, the result was just 10.45 per cent shy of the official 220-mile claim. Which NAF holds up as an outstanding result." From a real owner experience, me, I collected my Tesla M3 (2021 model) on 31 March 22 from Derby when it was snowing and the outside temperature was showing as -4C, the car had been charged to 88% and was showing an available range of 305 miles, this means if 100% charged it should have had a range of 346 mile. I drove home covering 210 physical miles, I had to detour via Gloucester as the M5 was closed at J11, and when I got home the range left showing on the car read out was 80 miles, you need to bear in mind that I had the heating on for nearly all the journey set to 20c on auto. So a loss of 15 miles in range or 5.% in battery from the 88% I started with, not bad IMO, I expect that when the sun came out it supplemented the heat in the car through the glass roof, which was for about half the journey. I charged the car overnight to 100% as I wanted to see what it full charge range was, it was 343 miles at 100%. Our car has now done 8551 miles and it reports a range of 335 mile when charged to 100% using a slow charge, this means that the battery range has lost 2% since new. However I have noticed that range has improved if only charging the battery to 80-85% and having done some investigation on the subject of Li-Ion battery degradation this is the best way to maintain power density in a Li-Ion battery. LPF batteries are different and M3 SR+(Short Range) have had them in since Oct 2021, they are much more susceptible to range degradation in cold weather and if you look into the reports sited I think you will find the cars involved had LFP batteries and were being used in very low temperatures, -10c or even lower.

😱 perhaps they are capturing all the nasty diseasal particulates and carbon at source, rather than driving it all over the state? More info required.
