Meter received, loaded up, registered, and mobile wireless adapter ordered. Gotta love new toys. WiFi dongle-thingy arrived today, which is quite impressive. I shall connect to the meter later. It's a neat little gizmo, and it paired over Bluetooth with no problems. The MySugr app looks good, and it downloaded my previous readings without even being asked to. There is a lot of stuff in there that I hope I never need, but that would be very useful to someone who needs to test regularly, and who, to put it bluntly, has a worse case of diabetes than I do. However, simply being able to look back over my previous readings with no effort, and presented much more clearly than on the Accu-Chek Mobile itself, will be handy. It was certainly worth every penny I didn't pay for it. A free tool, with free software, that is actually useful. I applaud Accu-Chek's - dare I say it - philanthropy? MartinT (and anyone else with an Accu-Chek Mobile) you should give it a try. It might not change your life, but it might end up making it easier.

I've used previous meters with the USB port. Haven't bothered with this one yet, despite the better readings.

Sainsbury's doesn't seem to sell the Lemon & Lime, but I'll try to report back on it and the Cola, over the weekend or early next week. I've just tried the Cola and it's fine, but on the whole, I think I prefer the flavour of Pepsi Max, which is also less than half the price. The differences are minimal. | Pepsi Max | Green Cola | ENERGY Per 100ml | 2kJ/ 0.4kcal | 3 kJ / 0.6 kcal
| CARBOHYDRATES
| 0g | 0.1g |
Both are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

I'd put the Lemon & Lime on a par with the Lemonade. If ever the Orange stops being a ludicrous price I'll try that too, but so far the Cherry is way out in front.

I'm going back tomorrow for more Sour Cherry, and the Lemonade is also very gluggable. I'll look out for the Lemon & Lime, too.

I've just ordered some of this stuff smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XJ15BFQ/ref=cfb_ai_prodpgLong story short, I've decided that fresh fruit and Shredded Wheat might make a decent dessert or even supper, but I wanted something sweet to sprinkle on it. Usual question from me, does anyone use similar, or if not why not? Yes, by the way, I do realise that the "Stevia" is a bit of a con, as it's mostly Erythritol.

Don't Go cold turkey and you will find you don't need it or miss it, say couple of weeks Even sweetened soya milk tastes horrid to me No can do, Mike. I did it with tea (not that I drink tea these days, only green tea with honey) 50 years ago, but I cannot abide coffee without sweeteners of some sort. I stopped using sugar in coffee and switched to sweeteners a long time ago, but I do have a sweet tooth, and I'm trying to work around that. I've given up smoking, I've all-but iven up drinking, and sex has given me up, I've got to have one vice other than rock & roll. Also, Shredded Wheat with an unsweetened, plant-based, milk substitute, sounds as appetising as eating damp hay.

I cannot abide coffee without sweeteners of some sort. Serious comment: I could not abide coffee with sweetener these days. Once you ditch any sweetening, the natural taste of coffee hits you like never before. Just one week of pain!!
