I generally recommend HiFiTuning Supreme fuses as being good for DC work. 20mm size, slow blow because of the large inrush current to charge the supercaps. As for the value, it depends on what spec you ordered. Another question. I have the 12v 4 amp version and popped the current fuse out, to the joy of all internet users yesterday. It is really hard to read the fuse engraving, it seems to read 11.6A. I assumed it would be a 4amp fuse. What should I put in there? (Thanks in advance for the IT support) 😀

You've answered your own question. If it's the 12V 4A version, then you should use a 4A rated slow blow, as the inrush current will be large but the continuous current should never exceed 4A.
Goodness knows why they put such a strange value in there.

There is actually a spare fuse in the holder also, although that’s the same. Your a star.

There is an internal fuse also. Does anybody know it’s rating?

I was talking about the internal fuse, since 12V 4A was clearly mentioned.
The mains fuse will be a much lower value.

I was talking about the fuse which is on the iec input on the back of the unit, and high pulls out in the black plastic carrier.
Are we talking about different fuses? Is there another inside the unit which means taking the unit apart?

There are two fuses, one internal. The internal one is sized for the 12V 4A output and is for DC (which I mentioned). That should be a 4A fuse.
The rear panel mains fuse should be happy with a 1A or 2A fuse.

Martin, the Zero One…how much range does the voltage adjustment give? The blurb mentions fine adjustment but no absolute range. I’m could get the 9V version for my clock, for which 8V works best. If the 12V version of the PS could be adjusted down to 8V then that would be a more long-term flexible unit.

I've never taken it to its limits, Clive. I know the 12V version goes at least to 13V (with a DVM, don't trust the front display), but how far low it goes is indeterminate. I would guess the 9V would go as low as 8V and lower. You could order it as 8V and they will supply the right one pre-adjusted for you.

I'm also looking at buying one of these, and in the interests of balance, I feel it's worth bearing in mind the following, when ordering such items.
I ordered my 230v/12v 01-A a few weeks ago on AliExpress. Eventually it was despatched via Fedex, despite my paying for and explicitly requesting DHL. It did arrive, but on opening the box I found a 115v/18v model.
I immediately contacted the vendor, and was instructed to plug it into the wall in case it had been mislabelled. I refused - "dangerous", I said. I was then asked if I could send it onto a USA address - the actual intended recipient (I actually have his name and address!). I refused - I wasn't prepared to take responsibility for customs forms etc. Instead I was asked to return it. I said I wouldn't until compensation was received for return postage. That arrived 3 days later via PayPal (minus Paypal charge). The vendor said they couldn't arrange collection from me.
Three more days, and no replacement despatched, so a refund has been requested.
The moral of the story: buying direct from China offers bargains, but when it goes wrong you're entering a world of pain. The risks are significant, as is the language barrier. It was interesting to me that the model sent had no serial number. It does have a CE denotation, but to be honest I take that with a pinch of salt.

Hi Mark, welcome and it's nice to see you here. Sorry you've had a bad experience with AliExpress. Which vendor did you buy it from? I have used Pony Electronics on both occasions and they were fine, with the proper spec sent and fast despatch. www.aliexpress.com/store/900242380

"Pony Electronics" sounds like it's in Peckham lol.
Yes CE counts for nothing as I found out with a not inexpensive Chinese amp once. A lot of this gear would benefit from checking for appropriate safety standards.

Mine is coming from Pony Electronics I’ll report back after it arrives. They did at least respond to a question I had.

Like the fool I am I'll give it another go. There seems to be another vendor (DIY Talent Audio Supermarket Store) offering the same. They have a completely different address to Pony, so a low chance of them being under the same umbrella. I think the bridge between me and Pony is thoroughly in cinders. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000768446081.html

My ps arrived from Pony (Express?) today. All worked out well, Pony even set the output voltage to my preference.
