It's the depth, Mike: the original Chord cable is shoulder-free, so it goes deep into the recess and fully mates with the socket. All the third party cables use connectors like the Martin Kaiser where a shoulder prevents it from fully mating. Damned nuisance!

I have compared the original IEC plug with the replacement
Unless my eyes and brain are deceiving me they are 99/9% identical

No, no maintenance is required in normal use. My 1200E is now 13 years old and I've sent it back to Chord Electronics once (five years ago) to have it upgraded to latest specification, which involved checking the power supply capacitors and changing some distortion resistors for slightly lower distortion.
I've answered in English, JP, because this information may be of general interest to our readers.

Rather ironic that the cheapest cables should offer the most secure connection ...

I know - I'm having TonyC (Coherent) make me one of his wonderful 6D power cables for my Chord, and we're going through the usual list of third party 16A/Hubbel connectors to see which one will work best. The Martin Kaiser silver up to now has been the best but it only just connects and doesn't sit as securely as I would like. Bevelling the shoulder carefully helps it to go in by a few more mm, which does help. The usual connectors from the likes of Furutech are no use at all.

That could be it, JP. When you say 'connect', do you mean physical contact?
I use RDC Cones under my 1200E and I know Mike does, too. I also removed the Integra legs, which is beneficial to the sound.
