Fia has decided to do something sensible about the bouncing BBC News - Canadian Grand Prix: FIA outlines plans to tackle 'porpoising' after drivers express concerns www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/61833829Good. Tough luck to whichever teams fall foul of these new regs, looks like red bull and the teams with little porpoising and not so appalling ride will just piss off into the distance

Mercedes continue their grindingly slow climb back up to the top tier. It's interesting that the teams around them are not developing at the same rate or away from them. However, we have yet to hear the outcome of the FIA's measurements and whether any enforced ride height increases are likely to be applied after Silverstone. On a different issue, Red Bull and Ferrari have not convincingly eliminated their reliability issues yet.

Ecclestone has always been a prize dick. He's just showing his true colours more recently.

It started with a horrifying crash for Zhou, who is thankfully OK. Some good racing after the restart with any of three possible winners. Very pleasing to see Sainz win his first F1 race, with Hamilton coming in third in front of his home crowd.

I see that the trophy was presented by Nadine Dorries. Apparently she's always quite liked Formula One since she saw Jimmy Greaves score in the Grand National on a go cart at the Manchester Velodrome during the London Olympics in Tokyo. She was disappointed that Lewis Hamilton didn't score many runs, but hoped he'd go through in the repechage. Hilariously, Martin Brundle was doing the post-race interviews, grabbing the interesting and famous for a few words, and he completely blanked Nads; walked straight past her. Afterwards he explained that he " didn't know who she was."

Bernie Ecclestone charged with fraud over assets worth £400mBernie Ecclestone, the former Formula One boss, will be charged with fraud by false representation following an HMRC probe into overseas assets believed to be worth more than £400 million, the Crown Prosecution Service said. It follows what the director of HMRC's Fraud Investigation Service called a " complex and worldwide criminal investigation". Andrew Penhale, the chief crown prosecutor, said the CPS has authorised a charge against the former Formula One boss of " fraud by false representation in respect of his failure to declare to HMRC the existence of assets held overseas believed to be worth in excess of £400m". He added: " The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are now active and that they have a right to a fair trial. " It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings." It is understood that Mr Ecclestone is currently overseas and will return to London soon. 'No one is beyond our reach'Simon York, the director of HMRC's Fraud Investigation Service, said: " We can confirm that a "fraud by false representation" charge has been authorised against Bernard Ecclestone. " This follows a complex and worldwide criminal investigation by HMRC's Fraud Investigation Service. The criminal charge relates to projected tax liabilities arising from more than £400m of offshore assets which were concealed from HMRC. " HMRC is on the side of honest taxpayers and we will take tough action wherever we suspect tax fraud. Our message is clear - no one is beyond our reach. " We remind people to refrain from commentary or sharing of information that could prejudice proceedings in any way. This is now a matter for the courts and we will not be commenting further." SOURCE

He probably forgot..
Wasn't this the whole point of Brexit? To enable the super rich to what the F they liked, away from stupid, draconian (I mean sensible),EU laws?
He once gave £1M to Labour and £14M to the Tory's. Clearly wasn't enough😀

Well, that looked to be a good race. Leclerc had it in the bag and crashed once again, proving that he still has that flakiness and lacks the consistency to be a world champion. Ferrari then proceeded to make a mess of the strategy for Sainz, denying him a podium. 2nd and 3rd place for Mercedes shows they are still improving and have reliability on their side.
