I'd like to get one into the P3 regenerator but I have no spare socket so will have to nobble a Coherent cable by feeding a ground cable into the plug. Do you mean you will put an extra wire into the plug ? Sounds a bit illegal....

Yes. Illegal? It's an earth cable.

Phew Please explain in gentle tones for the hard of understanding what you will do if you have no spare socket

Open up the plug on the end of a power cable. Feed a grounding wire in through the gland and screw it to the earth terminal (together with the existing wire). Close up.
It effectively creates a flying earth lead. Connect other end to a grounding box.
I must order another Aucharm - maybe the larger one this time as John says it's better.

Yes more mass I was able to do a direct cimparison and had more impact on the sound quality

Of course!

I've ordered an Aucharm XL and will connect it into the P3 regenerator when I've modified a Coherent power cable.

From previous discussions the grounding effect lasts in the system after being unplugged MartinT and John how long have you found that effect lasts ? From my experience the Coherent RTZ improves the sound immediately and then continues to improve The Quartz Acoustic and Silent Points take days for the effect to happen in my system

My experience is that a grounding box recovers more quickly after temporary unplugging compared with a fresh new connection.

Good info
How long does it take for the grounding effect to leave, completely or as good as completely ?

I don't know, Mike, mine are in constant use!
I further confirmed that Black Ravioli Pads give an extra boost to grounding box performance. Adding three each to my two Aucharms pushed the sound quality a further notch upwards.
It must be to do with vibration control of 'mini mother earth' better absorbing high frequency noise, or possibly not modulating it with the music-generated feedback.

John when do you hear the drop off in sound quality when removing Grounding boxes My experience was with the End on the ground mains and important to remember that I have a factory close by that adds noise to my mains system. First day not plugged in sound was a bit more lively with a slight loss of detail Second Day I am starting to hear mains distortion in my system Third Day I am back to being frurstrated with my sound I have no wish to repeat the experiment and only went through this to get a sense of what was happening in my system

Yes BR pads makes a difference On my RTZ 3 I use the SINK it used to be undwr the DAC but prefer under the RTZ plus BR pads The other boxes have BR pads

Well, I finally had a grounding box built. It's a bit bigger than the ones from China and nearly cost the same to get all the parts I have put it on the Furetech mains block Initial impressions are good, slightly stronger bass. But it's the treble where another level of harshness has been removed. The sound is flowing, effortless and natural Until today, I did not know any harshness was left on my system. Perhaps more to come

Did you use an existing design, John? Did it replace one already on the Furutech?
