I get some interesting suggestions on Spotify but also curious ones - not sure why it thinks I want to listen to the new Beyonce album ...
I wish the homepage was customisable so you could get rid of suggestions you don't want. Always seemed strange to me that you can't.

You must have googled / mentioned her in the vicinity of your phone, Alexa, Google, Smart watch etc 😂

Autoplay on YouTube brings up some interesting tracks. Ones I know and others to investigate

I've just spotted that Spotify have changed their EQ system so that now you can make manual changes across the spectrum. Strange that you don't get notified of these updates, or maybe I just missed it ...

Anything with the silly name platinum tries to justify a high price.
If it sounds as good as Qobuz and has one Hifi sub and the rest low Res in a family cobfig, it would probably be okay it for me.
Having Qobuz and Volumio sub and Spotify family adds up to more I would guess?

I’ve been enjoying Spotify lately. Can’t complain with the quality, sounds better than some of my CD’s. It will be interesting to see how much better it can get.

I'm already paying £16.99 pm for Spotify family - to get me to pay more than this, the new offering would need to be something special.

I agree, Qobuz continues to be an excellent streaming service.
Even if Spotify Platinum proves to be good, it's still only standard res whereas a lot of Qobuz' catalogue is now in hi-res.

Spotify HiFi high-resolution audio (advertised). Kinda nebulas in the abstract. If it puts out 24bit-192KHz the catalog would be BROAD I see the most of the Qobuz, Deezer, Beatport, Bandcamp, Tidal stuff Spotify now gives them all now @ 320bps. At 24bit-192KHz @ 9126bps it would be tempting ..

One point is that I trust Qobuz when they say they don't tamper with the source files.
Tidal most certainly do by applying MQA lossy compression.
Do we trust Spotify not to tamper?

Many of the companies laying off people are citing the same thing: they are mostly shrinking to pre-pandemic levels having over-staffed during lockdown.
We shall have to see.

I wonder is this to try and keep people happy while they drag their feet with the Hifi quality option?

I wonder is this to try and keep people happy while they drag their feet with the Hifi quality option? l think that 95% of Spotify users are not into Hifi, us Audiophiles are a small percentage
