Just hearing that an anti vax podcast hosted on Spotify has led to a backlash, among which has caused Neil Young to issue an ultimatum - Spotify pulls his music rather than the podcast! They should have stuck to what they know, and given us CD quality ages ago. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60149951

Spotify Lyrics suddenly appeared on my mobile app today as promised and works very well so far.
Adds another level to the music of course.

Neil Young is now also facing a " backlash" from people castigating him for leaving the decision up to Spotify rather than just withdrawing his music and telling people why after the fact.

4 months free on Amazon Prime worthwhile? Hardly any devices are supported, so who knows?

Even Radio 4 Money box, financial programme, were beating up on Spotify not sounding as good as CD.
This was reporting the fact that Tesco have stopped selling 'Now 450' sort of CDs:)
They also covered that Neil Y music is gone. Poor Spotted one.
They discussed at length how CD was a breath of fresh air, allowed bass to develop and engineers could provide sounds that vinyl can't as the groove would be too deep and the path too torrid for the poor needle.
Also how a small band can't get vinyl pressed because the main labels are taking up all the resources, so there's a 6 month+ waiting list. So they make CDs instead to have physical media to send / handout.
They completely missed the point and didn't cover art all that Qobuz, Apple, Amazon & Tidal (horrible coding though) - where you can stream and have CD or better, without the enevitable landfill.
I wrote to them putting them straight😂

I had to switch to Spotify to play my favourite early Zero 7 albums as this is one of the few remaining holes in Qobuz.
Now, understanding that Spotty is still 320k compressed Ogg streaming, it remains astonishingly good sounding. Everything from deep bass to soundstage to the rhythmic drive of the music is there. The only failings are ones of omission in terms of fine detail, edge transients and the last word in ultimate separation. It's not a bad fallback from Qobuz at all.

What's with Spotify's new presentation of tracks, inside a coloured square? Making the artwork even smaller.
It's horrible.

I do wish Qobuz was a lot bet his way. How do you mean, John? In terms of posting, I have been posting the link and artwork from Qobuz for a long time and it works fine. You can do it from the play.qobuz.com site, but not from the apps.

In terms of discovering music so, for example, if I listen to my weekly, I will find a few tracks each week. I will want to explore more music that is new to me. With Qobuz using a similar function, I have not discovered any new music I want to listen to, or that is new to me.

Yes, Qobuz links work on the Windows app, too. On an Android tablet, it's a bit kludgy as the link opens in the browser to start with, from which you can open it in the app. It's the same with Spotify. However, it doesn't bother me since I use BubbleUPnP rather than the Qobuz app so I just search for the album anyway.

So an example of a playlist Spotify came up with today is
Now I know about 40 per cent. There is plenty I have not heard. I will discover a new artist or album that will become part of my future listening.
