Never seen anyone who apart from Guthrie be able to have it all covered I liked the acoustic track, and "Room 335" reminded me a bit of Quantum Jump, although they were a bit more keyboard-centric. The tribute to Jeff Beck I didn't like one bit. It was unnecessarily cluttered with notes that had no right being in there. Jeff's name would be better left off that horrid racket. He's got an odd style. it's sort of a cross between the fingering of a classical guitarist and a bass player. I might try listening to his band, but he's got to do a lot to get me past that steaming pile of Jeff Beck [not-really-a] " tribute" I'm afraid.

People like Al DiMeola and Steve Vai rate him With the Jeff Beck tribute I felt he brought his own take on it. He is very good at outlaying the chords with his note choice something most players don't do. His technique is unusual but works well for him and gives him his tone.

He has an eighth of Beck's talent, little real passion and tries to incorporate pyrotechnics which was not Beck's style at all.

Sophie Lloyd - Lost (feat. Cole Rolland) and some high-voltage shredding harmonies. Superb playing that's reminiscent of Symphonic Metal in places and which proves that shredding can be melodic too.

I find her music a bit hit and miss but I like this track as it sounds like she was listening to the last Gus G album a lot, which is killer ...

For me Lari is leading the pack of melodic female guitar players. Has her own thing going on.

Yeah Lari is different class but just in terms of metal guitarists I would put Nita Strauss ahead of Sophie, when she's on form ...

The frets had to be made in a CNC machine. Quite a nice sound.

Caution: Keyboard content and bass playing too.

Caution: Keyboard content and bass playing too. Boo! Hiss! Had this on a K-Tel 20 Hits LP. It was "electronically processed for stereo", or words to that effect. Sometime later I found this was achieved by splitting the sound into 5 frequency bands and having 3 bands on one channel and the other 2 on the other channel. Anyway, it certainly didn't rattle along like this does:

Uli John Roth with a live acoustic solo that shows off both his technique and musicality.
