What a treat - Neal Schon and Steve Lukather sharing the stage with Gregg Rolie (ex Journey & Santana) sounding great on Black Magic Woman. John stellabagpuss

Excellent Jules...Shame Steve's guitar mix could be barely heard. Im lucky to have seen Steve, and Neal twice. Having Gregg back for a few songs is great, it would be great if Mr Perry did a couple, although his voice is past it now.

I'm still hoping to see Journey some time but it seems they very rarely play the UK. The Toto anniversary gig at the Royal Albert Hall a couple of years back now was just outstanding, one of the most memorable performances ever for me, I had such a good time ...

l caught Steve in a solo gig at the Robin 2 Bilston.
Caught Neal supporting Extreme, for Hardline also had the future Journey drummer Deen Castrinovo on drums.
Finally caught Journey back in Cardiff, it was a Hi Breed version, Steve Augeri had left, due to being caught out mineing at the Sweden Rock Festival, they hired Jeff Scott Soto for vocals and he did a great job...but he didn't get the permanent role... Neal discovered Arnel Pineda on YouTube and the rest is history...

If I was given the gift of being able to play like anyone, it would probably be Albert Lee.
There's a superb version otf "Country Boy" at around 38:25.

Just came up on my YT feed, very impressive. Technically excellent, but there seems no room for personality or soul in that sort of playing, which is probably just me geting old. I prefer clean distortion these days.

I saw Joe at the Marquee many years ago I kind of got fed up with the over use of the Harmonizer he and Steve used back then.

I saw Joe at the Hammersmith Apollo years ago and he was ok on the melodic tracks, but the guitar hero stuff just tires me after a short while.
