The days when my wishes commanded anyone are long gone. Actually, come to think of it, they never even existed.

Nvidia RTX 3060 Pricing Skyrockets Before LaunchPretty much as I expected, $329.00 was never going to happen. Launch date tomorrow and I noticed Scan have a lot more 3060 cards detailed on their website, still no prices published or the ability to order however - it's going to be a bun fight. I've spent all my money on the Roon ROCK server now anyway, so i'll observe from a safe distance!

I shall not be entering the feeding frenzy at five-hundred-quid or so for the card. If prices don't look like cooling off for a while I'll just complete the build and put the GTX 1060 from my current PC inside, until more settled times price-wise.

That sounds a very sensible course of action Paul, I see 3060 cards are already being sold on secondary markets for more than $1,000. It's not a brilliant time for gamers right now!

Today's the day. The RTX 3060 hits the stores in the UK (if my maths and my memory are both correct) at 17:00 our time. Can I contain my excitement? Yup, apparently. I shall be watching a couple of stores, but I'm not expecting to trouble my bank account. I'd probably go to £50.00 over the top, £349.00 say, but I think that number might be way back in the distance, and only observable in the rearview mirror of my PayPal account.

Yup, today is indeed the day. I'll be taking a look too and there is a card listed on Scan I'd quite like, but still no idea on price. In the hugely unlikely event it's priced below 400 I could possibly be tempted, but I very much doubt that'll happen and no doubt whilst I'm pondering, it'll sell out anyway. That is if they even have any available? It was easier getting a Kate Bush ticket

Try buying a 3060 at a retailer in half an hour and come back to me on that one I guess I was lucky with Kate Bush, having said that there were 4 of us all trying to buy at the same time, 2 were lucky and you could buy 4 tickets, so we all got one and could bring some friends. I guess trying on your own would have been a lot harder.

That and the Led Zeppelin one-off were both failures despite my trying as hard as I could.

Now that I did fail on and there were 3 of us trying Gosh I'd have loved to have seen that, never got to see Zeppelin

I think it would have been easier to get Kate Bush to sleep with me than secure an RTX 3060. Curry's site has crashed, EVGA is frozen, Scan had stock, but I made the mistake of blinking, etc.

Yup, I stand by my previous - it was easier to get a Kate Bush ticket. Gone in seconds not minutes. But here's what really ticks me off, Scan were selling a Palit 3060 for £379.99 - there is now an unrated seller on Amazon called Cybernerds selling the exact same card for £1,470.14 plus £19.00 delivery! Amazon should be all over that

I'm off to pour myself a G&T and listen to a bit of Beethoven - no Microsoft Flight Simulator for me then, haha

It's still showing Paul but there's no 'add to basket' button, I might have gone for that one. I would prefer an EVGA, but . . . . .
I only actually saw one card with the green Add to Basket button, which was £449.99 - not sure what is was, as it was gone when I clicked it

Oh well, that's the most exciting thing I've been semi-involved in for about a year, and it's over. Back into hibernation then.
