I'm running with YT Music Premium now on my phone and BT5 to my new DAC. I'll sit down with it and assess...the app looks good.

Getting Spotify to sound good took a bit of time seems like my phone was resampling even though I had settings in adaptive Tidal and YouTube no such issues

I'd like to try Bluetooth 5 in the New Year.
Sadly neither my Mac or my android phone have v5. I guess I could get a USB v5 dongle for them.
Are there any particular recommended v5 receivers to feed a DAC?

Thanks John, that was interesting. I don't think my phone supports LDAC, and anyway according to the article aptX HD at 24 bit /48 kHz is capable of better than CD quality so that's fine as far as I am concerned.

Yes both are good from my readings also your receiver does not support LDAC

It's easy enough to get a different receiver but I don't really want to change my phone. Anyway, aptX HD sounds great.

I see no reason as you say you getting a great sound I must admit I am quite shocked by the sound quality I did not have a good experience with the IFI Zen Blue it just had that awful glare that people complain about. I think a bit of research is required for people trying this out e.g Does your phone have BT5 and what receiver to get

I've spent a little time comparing BT5 / YT Music via my Gustard A22 DAC and the Lindemann Bridge (playing files) running from a Supercap power supply.
The Lindemann is ahead but mostly this is the power supply...with a more "cooking" linear PS the result is closer. Either way, the sound with BT5 is very respectable. YT Music was running at 96kHz, no glitches. There was a little less extension at the top end and the bass was a tad heavy & less textured but as I say much of the Lindemann's advantage was it's PS. Thumbs up for BT5 (and YT Music).
I loved the track Jerry linked above. John's was good too though in a very different way!

Cheers Clive I am just listening to this via the QP 1 power supply rather than the power bank I was using its a bit better than using the power bank this is more noticeable with Tidal and Spotify as I am not used to listening for differences with YouTube

I am not really a technical guy so not able to answer your question Jules. I have tried the other formats apart from HD APX as my receiver does not support this and it wins hands down against the other codes

I don’t know what to say about LDAC except that I’ve played a good number of 96kHz tracks without a dropout, BT 4.2 wasn’t anywhere as reliable even with my phone sitting next to the receiver.

I had no drop out issues with 96KHZ unless I go for the 990kbps speed version of the code
I find with YouTube I like it set at 96KHZ and with Spotify 44KHZ

Been on about Bluetooth for ages. Highly under rated and just getting better.
