Interesting, Your extended burn in senario night not have the right triggers of course. No matter how many times it repeats.
2.9 could have a regression fault! Another classic SW problem.
Let's see what Sonore say.

First communique back from Small Green Computer
"Make sure you are on 2.9 and that you have pressed the update button.
I don't recommend bubble it does not work well."
They then say follow the instructions attached them to their email. . . . Recommends mConnect (which I have used briefly in the past).
The 'press update button' line made me think.
I put the SD card in, followed the steps on the instructions that accompanied the SD card.
Did I press that there update button? I think so..
It says V2.9 when interrogated.
So, a couple of things to check / try..
Fingers crossed.

Bubble is superb compared with the rather horrible Mconnect UI.
I'm not sure you get the upgrade process, Steve. Pressing that Update button does not increment the major version number, but it does perform security and bug fix updates. I do it every month on my 2.8.

I don't get why he would write it like that..

Hehe, there were no updates to install. It still says Current version V2.9. Latest version V2.8.
Then I tried exactly the same thing playing with nConnect instead of Bubble. It fell over in exactly the same manner after playing my Favourited list on the 2nd track. Same get it going again procedure.
So nothing to do with Bubble (of course)!
I went back to Bubble and set the max res to 24/96.
Hasn't fallen over yet.

Bizarre, and points to a possible hardware fault, or a strange interaction with the DAC.

Jesus of Sonore had been very responsive. He did not think I'd have V2.9 until I showed him the screen printout of it! Perhaps Small Green Computer is a bit ahead of SW releases than Sonore thought.
He suggested, uninstalling the Sonore app Bubble server - I didn't have it installed. He also reviewed the detailed Dac diagnostics - nothing untoward there. Plus the Dac diagnostic readout when the failure occurs.

I went on to ask him about Rendering to Untrarendu or the Ultrarendu UPnP as shows up in Bubble.
He's not answered that one yet.
Small Green Computer recommended mConnect over Bubble as media server.
Interestingly mConnect doesn't see renderer Ultrarendu, only the Ultrarendu UPnP one. Martin told me he avoids the latter.
I've used both. Can't say which one worked better.
Jesus asked about my connections between router and Ultrarendu, and also what USB cable.
As something else to try, I uninstalled RoonReady and Squeezelite - don't use them.
Last night I started listening using only Untrarendu as selected renderer, did not use Renderer Ultrarendu UPnP. No matter what I played, and following similar patterns of use to previous times I've had the problem, I could not recreate it! Qobuz set to 24/192 (in Bubble UPnP on my Android phone). I even made a playlist in Qobuz with 255 tracks all 24/192 res! Pressed play on the entire playlist.. Lots of toing and froing, that usually caused the problem. Could not recreate. Played the same playlist and Favourites list that gave the failure before. Nope!
I quit Bubble UPnP and used mConnect app on my phone. Again Qobuz set to 24/192. As mentioned before mConnect only shows Renderer Ultrarendu UPnP to select. Same use patterns, could not get a fail!
Back to Bubble UPnP on phone and using Renderer Ultrarendu UPnP this time, again no failure!
Gave up for that evening🙂
I would not think that uninstalling Squeezelite and Roonready from Rendu would have any affect...
In the past there have been a few whole listening sessions where there was no failure and then the next time I get it. Could have been one of those evenings..
I'll be testing going forward using media server Bubble UPnP and renderer selected as Ultrarendu only.
We'll see.
If it fails I'll have the list of status dumps that Jesus wants to see.
It will be interesting to hear what he thinks of my;
Router -> short lan cable -> single mode fibre converter -> short optical link -> single mode converter -> short lan cable (gives 70mb/s, ping 8-10ms) -> Rendu Router is less than 5' from Rendu.

I admire your persistence Steve - you should get a medal for your sleuthing skills here! It's the Function / integration / Systems Verification Manager in me🙂 I actually enjoy it quite a lot. I could sit down and write hundreds of use cases to run on every new release to ensure it does what it should / no regression. Hopefully that is what Sonore do..

I definitely keep only DLNA and Spotify apps installed on the Rendu, and only use Rendu (not UPnP) on Bubble.
That's the KISS/Engineer in me!

Yesterday evening I had the failure. Doing usual playing / testing. So nothing to do with only 2 apps loaded, not does only using Ultrarendu as renderer and not selecting Ultrarendu...UPnP.
This evening I considered setting the Res down to 24/96 and proceeding, but decided on trying the Proxy setting in Bubble UPnP under Local and cloud. It states; "Enable only if a Renderer does not play cloud streams, or had issues playing them" - that pretty much sums it up (a very little proportion of the time though). It also claims "Proxy causes no loss of sound quality".
I could not detect any loss of sound quality.
Thereafter I played to my heart's content without any problems.
There's also a setting under Qobuz / Renderer settings (select appropriate Renderer), specifically to Proxy Qobuz tracks..
That might be next on my list if the 0.0 won't play still strikes.
I briefly tried Spotify using the App Switcher in Ultrarendu and Spotify app connecting.
I really can't listen to Spotify these days. It's either a bit lifeless and dull on some material, or a bit shrill and siblent but still lacking detail, on others - it can't make its mind up🙂

Proxy settings sounds like a good move, Steve. It could even be a foible of your ISP. When I was on BT, I used to set manual DNS as BT's was awful and sometimes wouldn't play the song, just sitting there waiting for it. I always found BT's DNS bad so tended to use Google DNS on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Yes, I forgot to write that without the Proxy enabled, the long playlists would play the first track pretty much straight away, then continue loading and more recently fail with a timeout. It did work / does work at times but it's random.
The playlist might, or might not be loaded..
This didn't in itself cause the '0.0 won't play / DAC lost' fault though, and could happen multiple times with no consequence.
With the Proxy enabled, it doesn't seem to try to load the whole playlist, it plays, and somehow Bubble sorts it out track by track - I don't know? The playlist is visible in bubble's playlist, and possible to advance through the tracks / hop about.
We'll see if ▶️ continues for perpetuity.

Performed faultlessly the last couple of days, then fell over quite quickly this evening.
Proxy set.
I'm narrowing it down..
Play my playlist. Let it play a few tracks one after the other (none were 24/192), Skip to a track a few ahead, it plays. Do this a few times, seemingly random number.
The playlist then becomes broken and I can't skip to any other track. They show on the Bubble playing now screen with artist / cover but don't play. Still not the flashing 0.0 lock up though. I then reload the playlist, select any track and it freezes with flashing 0.0 secs progress.
Nothing will break this stalemste (dac lock light permanent lit), other than Rendu reboot and Gustard off on..
Need to repeat a few times more now before reporting it to Jesus.
