The term "billion" is getting used more and more these days, due to national debts, government spending, financial black holes, whatever, and it's losing its value, so to speak.
Let's put a 'BILLION' in context.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was (supposedly) alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no one walked on the earth on two feet.
I didn't use to need the internet, my wife knew everything.
That's astonishing. It's something that shouldn't need legislation - wearing a seatbelt just makes sense. I always wore one since I started driving, well before the law was passed.
I found a seat belt essential in my first car as it held me in the seat so I could drive even more like a teenager

I've thought of this quite a bit lately regarding world population.
"It took all of human history to reach 1 billion people in the early 19th century, and about 123 years to reach 2 billion and 33 years to reach 3 billion people in 1960."
A Google search result showed that we reached 1 billion people living on earth in the year 1804.
We have 7 billion now though I wonder what life will be like on Earth when we reach 20 billion.

Many months ago I mentioned Coldplay whining about not touring any more due to being worried about their carbon footprint. Well folks, they've solved all of those problems by teaming up with DHL and it's now safe for them to inflict their uber dreck on the world once more and feel really good about themselves into the bargain.
It's not fair. That last thing I need is another guitar, but look at it...
