Few years ago on TV a program about benefit fraud mentioned two foreigners one a Nigerian woman who had claimed over 1M in housing benefit fraud - she was claiming for a rake of properties she didn't own. The other was a bloke. Cannot remember if he was Nigerian as well, anyway, he had some really flash pad, with all the gadgets - including as set of them B & O speakers. Neither of them appeared to be living here.

Actually Jerry they aren't that big. Not one whole hellava lot bigger than yours are. In all honesty they are good speakers but I don't think they are worth the retail price. Yours represent much better value for money. The Xtremes are big.

Well, if I were David I wouldn't want to downsize to a mere £20k, either!
There's a few folks here in that position, for whom £20k would be a sideways move at best.

That may be the case Jerry, but as I said before, it's a hypothetical question. In the case of those people, entering into the spirit of it would provide an interesting insight into what designs might provide a reasonable compromise.
It was meant to be a bit of fun in a time when all around us is bad news.

Must propose new rule about willy waving at next TAS Admin meeting. This sentence contains an intriguing ambiguity.

My speakers retail for £75k so I am not slumming it for anyone LOL I have heard Davids speakers at his (old) shop in Huddersfield, but to be honest, and considering the cost of the partnering equipment, I was not overly impressed. For a mere £44,500 I would opt for a pair of Acapella Audio Campanile speakers. I heard a pair driven by 833a valve amps in someones front room (yes really !) and I was captivated. It's OT because of the price but I'm bored and needed to post something (anything). www.audioaffair.co.uk/acapella-campanile-mkiii-speakers-pair

Ah well, if you want my ultimate .... A trifle over £20k, though, I think. $263k and 3600lb.

I'd have some Audio Note AN-J-SE Silvers, high gloss finish.
Let me know when I can spend 20K on the amp please :-)

I think I'd go for a nice set of TAD or Wilson speakers, not sure which ones or whether or not I would get new or used though.
